Maple Buhter

9/21/25 FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS:  Please send your love to Lari, Rob and sweet Maple Buhter. 🌈

Today, we’re wrapping our arms around two of the kindest hearts we know, Lari and Rob, as they recently had to say goodbye to their beloved foster girl, Maple Buhter.

Maple came to us needing comfort, peace, and love… and Lari and Rob gave her all of that and more. They helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge with dignity and warmth, surrounded by the same love that carried her through her final chapter.

What makes this family even more extraordinary is that they continue to open their hearts and home to those who need it most.

They are currently fostering not one, but two hospice Bulldogs: Gladiator and Olive Oyl — both living their best golden days thanks to the compassion and care of these remarkable humans.

Not everyone can do what Lari and Rob do. It takes immense courage, deep empathy and a truly selfless kind of love. They don’t just give these dogs a home — they give them family, no matter how long they have left.

Please join us in sending love, light and gratitude to Lari and Rob. Maple Buhter’s paw prints will stay on all our hearts forever.

7/13/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Maple Buhter to our rescue family! From her foster momma: We don’t know much about Maple Buhter’s early life. About five years ago, she was taken in by a kind elderly woman who found Maple Buhter wandering on her property.

Sadly, due to ongoing health issues, Maple Buhter’s mom can no longer care for her or the other dogs in the home, and they all found themselves in need of new beginnings.

Maple Buhter is estimated to be around 10 years old, and she’s every bit as sweet as her name suggests. She’s already seen our vet for some skin issues and painful ears and is now enjoying soothing medicated baths every other day. She’s also receiving treatment to help ease her joint pain.

These days, Maple Buhter is living her best rescue life — lounging on the softest, most cushioned beds we could find and making fast friends with the other pups in her foster home. Her favorite place to be? Right on the couch, in the center of it all, soaking up every pet and cuddle she can get.
