Tootsie

Tootsie

Please send your love to the family of alumna Tootsie Roll who recently left for the Rainbow Bridge and took a piece of her momma’s heart with her.

From her momma: This sassy old gal crossed the Rainbow Bridge early this morning. She never missed a meal, loved a nap, and was large and in charge. Tootsie turned 12 in July, which meant she really beat the Bulldog odds, but she just couldn’t fight back after a stroke a few weeks ago.

Her foster sister Bunny was with her when she passed. Bunny barked and barked until I let her sleep next to Tootsie. That’s where she wanted to be.

Many thanks to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue and Dr. Leah Larsen at Bright Star Veterinary Clinic in Sulphur Springs. They are heroes to foster animals like this old lady.

Saturday was a great day for Tootsie Roll! She was adopted by the sweetest family from San Antonio. They have two great little boys and one bulldog, Angus, that they previously adopted. Tootsie and Angus got along immediately and the whole family fell in love. They updated once they arrived back in San Antonio and said everything is just perfect. It was our first time to see an adoption through as fosters and it was beyond rewarding. I shed a few happy tears!

Please welcome Tootsie, the newest arrival to our rescue family! Tootsie is as sweet as can be and 6 years old. She was surrendered because of some health concerns that her owner was not able to continue handling. Tootsie is about 45 lbs of Bulldog perfection. Hopefully, in the days to come, Tootsie will be feeling better and ready to find her forever family.
