Tripp Smith

Tripp Smith

Unfortunately Tripp recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to complications from heartworms. We wish his foster the best. Please, practice heartworm prevention on your pets!

I spent both Christmas and New Year’s at the shelter, and you know what? It was OK with me. The shelter was warm, and the people there were so kind to me.

Every day, they told me they knew my eyes were hurting and that they hoped my family would come for me.

They were right – my eyes do hurt, and they water all the time. All I wished for was a family who would take me to the vet and get my eyes fixed.

The staff at the shelter always told me how beautiful I am, and if no one came for me, they assured me that rescue would step in. They promised rescue would make sure all my medical needs were met.

So now, I’m part of the rescue family and I’m getting my eyes addressed. Before long, I’ll be ready to find a family who will love me forever and never neglect me again.

2/13/25 Update:  I wanted to check in and let you know how things are going. Since joining rescue, I’ve been getting the medical care I need, and soon, I’ll finally have my eye surgery! My eyes have been hurting for a long time, but I’m on my way to feeling so much better.

At first, I wasn’t too sure about being around other dogs—it was all a little overwhelming. But guess what? I’ve warmed up and am doing great! I’m learning that other dogs aren’t so bad, and I even enjoy some company now. But don’t worry, my favorite thing in the world is still snuggling. I’m a professional cuddle buddy, and I take my job very seriously.

I may be a champion snuggler, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got some fun energy too! I’m only 2 years old, which means I’ve got plenty of life and love to give. And let’s be honest: I’m super handsome (I mean, just look at me!). There’s even a picture of me looking up at the sky, and I know what you’re thinking—am I making a wish? Saying a little prayer? Maybe both. I’ve been wishing for a family of my own, one that will love me, take care of me, and never let me be neglected again. And thanks to rescue, I know that wish is closer than ever to coming true.

Pretty soon, I’ll be all fixed up and ready to find my home. Until then, I’ll be resting up, getting healthy, and keeping my snuggle skills sharp.

Stay tuned for more updates! And if you know someone looking for a perfect mix of fun energy, charm, and cuddles, tell them about me!
