Trixie Belle

Trixie Belle

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS ~ Most of you know that losing a dog is a deep and unique kind of heartbreak. The bond we share with them is unconditional, and that kind of love leaves a lasting mark. As it has done with the family of alumna Trixie Belle.

Trxie’s momma shares: On July 11, we said goodbye to our sweet Trixie Belle. We met Trixie 8.5 years ago at an event held by Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue and were completely wrapped around her paw within the first five minutes.

After a few meet and greets, she decided we would do just fine and when we drove her to her “deluxe apartment in the sky,” she never looked back.

Everyone who met Trixie loved Trixie. She loved everybody, but she had her favorites, for sure (you know who you are). She always was the life of the party, and always found a way to be the center of attention or at least be in the center of the room!

That continued even at 12.5 years old! We celebrated the 4th of July with some friends and when Trixie was done partying, she went to sleep – she didn’t let the fireworks bother her at all.

Our house is way too quiet for words and we miss her terribly, but we know that she is in a better place. She has left such a paw print on our hearts. “Party Girl Trixie” was the most special girl.

Rest in peace, my sweet girl.

Trixie Belle has been adopted!  Today was a day full of mixed emotions as our first foster Trixie Belle left to be with her forever family. She will now be living the good life in Dallas with her amazing new Mom and Dad where she will be loved beyond measure. We will sure miss you Trixie Belle but know that you will make your new family just as happy as you did ours.

Please welcome Trixie Belle to rescue! If bulldogs got any cuter then Trixie Belle I would love to see them! At age 3  3/4  and weighing 35lbs. Trixie decided she no longer wanted to play nice with the older family beagle and would on occasion decide that a fight was necessary. Trixie Belle would just jump right in and fight for no reason.  Trixie Belle never thought her behavior was bad,  she just assumed a good fight was the way to get her blood pumping. Trixie Belle has been around lot’s of other dogs with no problem, just the one beagle that lived in the home. She is very healthy and in great shape. Check back soon for more information on this little girl.

2/10/17 Update:  She is 35 lbs of perfection! Small, compact, and will make a perfect addition to a Bulldog family. Trixie has been very standoffish, darting around like a tiny mouse, never really joining in…. But this week, she has really came out of her shell. Trixie has progressed by leaps and bounds! I expect her family will be found in the very near future.

2/17/17 Update:  She is doing wonderful. She has started to come out of her shell more and more each day and is actually starting to lay near our little guy. She loves our couch and is starting to make herself feel at home, it seems.
