Harley Annabelle

Harley Annabelle

5/31/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From volunteer Chuck: We’re thrilled to share that sweet Harley Annabelle—now Ziggy—has found her home!

From the very first moment of the meet-and-greet, she seemed to know this was it. With slobbery kisses and tail wags, she quickly made it clear she had chosen this family as her own. Ziggy was all in—belly rubs sealed the deal!

She’s now living her best life in Castroville, Texas, with her amazing new humans, Elizabeth and Keith, and even gained a new furry sister—another female named Harley! (Clearly, this was meant to be.)

Ziggy also made sure her beloved foster mom, Joanne, was included in the adoption day photos—a beautiful reminder of how much love and care she received during her time in foster.

It’s been a wonderful transition from a nurturing foster environment to a home full of love, fun and new adventures.

Way to go, Ziggy!

INTRODUCTION:  Today something very strange happened. My family said we were going for a ride in the car (which I love!), but we ended up at the local shelter instead.

I didn’t understand why… until I overheard them tell the nice shelter lady that their child had developed an allergy to me.

I was shocked. I thought maybe an allergy pill could fix that—but I guess I was wrong.

When I got to the shelter, I acted very  scared. The barking was loud, and I couldn’t stop shaking. But the people there were so kind. They told me to hold on because they were calling rescue—and that someone would come for me soon.

And they were right.

I saw the rescue van turn the corner, and my heart jumped! I was already waiting at the door when sweet Ms. Sheliah walked in. I couldn’t believe it—I was saved!

Even though my time at the shelter was short, it felt long enough for a lifetime.

I’ll be having a little surgery soon so I

won’t have puppies, and then I’ll be ready to find a new family one with a cozy couch and a heart big enough for a girl like me.
