Foster Mom has been telling me all week my big day was coming up! Last night, I took a bath so I was ready for my “Gotcha Day.”
This morning, I helped Foster Mom pack up all my meds, my favorite toys and a blanket she made for me that I’ve been sleeping with. Then, I put a pretty bandana on my collar that my foster grandma made… and then I waited.
This pretty blue car pulled up that matched my eyes and it was my new family coming to get me!
We visited a bit and I was full of kisses. Then, we went and loaded up the car so I could go check out my new house. Dad was our chauffeur and the girls all piled in the back.
But this isn’t goodbye to my foster family. I’ll be back for a visit soon! Foster Mom promised not to cry because this is a happy day.
Hello everyone! My name is Ally, and this week has been the best week of my life. This week started with me being picked up at the local landfill while I was searching for food. No one will ever know if I was dropped off there or if I started wandering around and ended up there. All I know is that is where I was found and now, I have been saved.
Today my “Stray Hold” was up at the shelter, and I was good to go. I kept watching the clock for the magic hour, and when it came and passed my shelter friend picked me up and told me she was going to give me one more bath so I would be fresh and clean for the rescue ladies. I was in heaven.
I don’t have any fur and when you touch me, I feel hot, and my skin feels like rubber. And I am just a baby. For the life of me I will never understand why no one took me to the vet when I needed to go. I do understand that not everyone loves a bulldog, but I will never understand why someone would sit and watch me suffer. I have places I have scratched till I made my skin bleed. All 4 feet hurt, they are swollen, and it hurts when I walk. My eyes are infected, and they constantly leak. The rolls on my legs are infected, and the worst part is how bad I smell. No matter how many bathes I have had I still smell bad.
But today I joined rescue and everyone I have met told me they loved me. We talked about how beautiful I will be and how much better I will feel.
When I get better, and my skin doesn’t hurt, I am going to get a new harness and leash. I am going to the store, and I get to pick it out myself. Can you believer that? I have gone from living in a landfill to being treated like the princess I was born to be.
Watch my journey thru rescue and see a miracle transformation right before your very eyes. My name is Ally, today I joined rescue and this week I was saved.
8/25/22 Update: What a sweet girl! It’s horrible that someone let her stay in this condition. It will probably take a few months to grow in her coat. We’re starting her with medicated baths three times a week. We gave her a Cytopoint injection and will continue meds the shelter started. Her bloodwork is due back today and we scheduled her spay for two weeks from now so we can get ahead of the skin infection.
8/31/22 Update: Ally loves to give us kisses now when we get on the floor with her.
She’s slowly learning what chew toys are, but prefers cardboard boxes when she finds them. She made it upstairs for the first time and thought she was on top of the world out on the balcony. Slowly but surely, she’s getting some hair growth on her legs and face, but not much on her body yet. She hates her baths now and knows when her shirt comes off it’s time for one.
Thank you to all our supporters for allowing us to care for Ally and give her a fresh start to life!
9/6/22 Update: Foster girl Ally is putting on her dancing shoes this weekend. We hope you are too.Ally has figured out how to jump on the couch and likes to watch what’s going on in the kitchen from here. She crawled in the bed with Valentine Rose last night under the desk.
9/8/22 Update: Foster Mom lost her mind this morning waking me up with the chickens. She knows I’m not a morning dog, but I went out for my morning potty then had to stretch to try to wake up.
But then Foster Mom was even more confused because she forgot my breakfast. She said we were going on a road trip to see Dr. Larsen for something called a spay. I’m excited to see Dr Larsen and hopefully she gives me some treats after all this.
Paws together to send Ally good vibes for a successful surgery today.
9/9/22 Update: She’s done – her surgery went well, but she wasn’t happy waking up and didn’t want to be left alone. Anytime they would leave her, she would thrash around so a tech has been sitting with her all afternoon. She did need entropion surgery also, so she will be in a cone until she goes back in two weeks to have her eye and spay stitches removed. I will pick her up tomorrow late morning.
9/14/22 Update: I’m healing very nicely! I’ve been enjoying this Bulldog-friendly weather and my foster mom let’s me enjoy the sun a few minutes at a time.
I’ve been a good girl, like I promised and not bothering my pink eyelashes often, but my foster mom still watches me like a hawk. I think she’s jealous and wishes she had pink eyelashes.
I’m posing here to show off all my new hair growth slowly taking shape. Hopefully, it will be all grown in just in time for cooler weather!
9/19/22 Update: Foster Mom said I’m doing great with my healing. We are counting down the days until I get my stitches out because all I want to do now is play, if I’m not sleeping.
My personality is really coming out now that I feel better and I’m in a safe place. I love to chew on cardboard and if anyone leaves shoes laying around, I call them fair game. That will teach them to put them up where they belong.
Also, I had a meet-and-greet a couple of weeks ago that seemed to go well. So once I’m cleared from my surgeries, I will be packing my bags and moving on to my furever family! And the best part is my foster parents will be my godparents. I will get to visit them when my new family travels, so I won’t be saying goodbye to them, I’ll be saying “see you soon!”
9/23/22 Update: Guess what? I am no longer a fashion diva with pink eyelashes, but that’s OK because now I can play with my foster siblings again.
I didn’t know how to play when I first came, but my Frenchie foster brother taught me how to hop around like a bunny. Foster Mom says it’s never a dull moment with three under 3.
The best part of today was I celebrated with ice cream! That’s right, Foster Mom bought us special doggie ice cream. I’ve never had anything so good before and I kept going back to look for more.
