Apple Dumpling (now Betty)

Apple Dumpling (now Betty)

9/2/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: The start of the new month also marks the start of an incredible new life for our sweet Apple Dumpling — now lovingly known as Betty!

Apple Dumpling came to us after spending her former life tied outside with nothing but a rope. Her previous owner, wanting something better for her, brought her to us in hopes she could have the life she truly deserved. And did she ever hit the jackpot!

Betty now has a loving new family, complete with a fur brother, two human sisters, and parents who are ready to spoil her silly and surround her with love. She’s trading in her old life for one filled with soft beds, belly rubs and so much joy.

Congratulations to Betty and her amazing new family. Your happy ever after starts now! 💕

8/10/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Apple Dumpling to our rescue family! From volunteer Dianne: This may be the cutest, roundest little Bulldog to roll into rescue… and also one of the saddest. 💔

She’ll turn 3 on August 28, but until now, her world has been incredibly small. Apple Dumpling came to us after her family, now expecting a new baby and managing young kids, could no longer give her the care she needs. We’re told she’s never left the house, never gone for a car ride and has never seen a vet.

Her very first leash-walking lesson? Total chaos. I went one way, she launched herself the other — picture a cannonball in slow motion. We stopped, started and fumbled our way through it. Filming was impossible through all the laughing, tripping and wrangling. But it’s all part of her fresh start.

Apple Dumpling still needs all her vaccinations, a spay and a foster family who understands the needs of a Bulldog who’s never been socialized outside of one home. She’s learning everything for the first time.

But don’t let her lack of life experience fool you — Apple Dumpling is an absolute love bug. She adores affection, gently offers her paw when she wants face squishes and insists on accompanying you everywhere — especially the bathroom. Privacy? Not in her vocabulary. Once she trusts you, she’s pure Velcro, happiest when stuck right by your side.
