Barkley Update:
“Barkley is on the last half of his heartworm treatment and is doing very well. He has actually gained a few pounds and is looking much better. After he completes his heartworm treatment he will be neutered and ready for that new home!! Please consider “Sponsoring” Barkley to help with his final medical needs.”
We think Barkley is about 3-4 yrs old since he has such much spunk. Fortunately he was found by a good Samaritan wondering the streets in pretty bad shape. He is fairly thin from lack of nutrition but the worst part is that he is positive for heartworms. Our vet said that he has advanced stage heartworms and a lung infection but that is clearing up, he will start heartworm treatments on Monday November 1st. He will undergo 2 rounds of treatment then recoup for at least a month. Hopefully after that he will be able to go to his new home. He has been working hard on potty training and marking since we brought him to our home. He is also crate trained it seems. Barkley has very good manners and does know some commands. Most of all he just wants belly rubs and booty scratches. He is incredibly sweet and loving. He never meets a stranger and seems to do very well with all types of animals, cats, dogs, frogs (yes, I said frogs). I think he will make the perfect companion for someone who can work with him on the potty training as needed and be able to give him lots of love and attention. He’s a real sweetheart! Barkley will be up to date on vaccinations, free of heartworms and on a preventative and be neutered before his adoption. His adoption fee is $450.
