Bear Grillz

Bear Grillz

5/31/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT times two! From the foster momma: Our sweet boys, Pudgy and Bear Grillz, found their family last Sunday—and while it all happened quickly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Their new dad, Ron, had previously shared his life with a beloved Bulldog named Snoopy. After Snoopy passed, Ron knew his heart still had room for another Bulldog—or maybe two. When he saw Pudgy and Bear online, he instantly felt a connection.

Our rescue team did a home visit on Friday, and while Ron was eager to bring the boys home right away on Saturday, we needed just one more day to prepare everything—and, honestly, to come to terms with saying goodbye. These boys are incredibly special.

On Sunday morning, bright and early, Ron and Darlene arrived. Jeff and I had no doubt they’d fall in love the moment they met, and as we expected, Pudgy and Bear Grillz felt the same. It was a beautiful match.

The trip to their new home went smoothly, and Darlene and Ron have been sending wonderful updates on how well the boys are settling in. It warms our hearts to see them thriving and loved so deeply in their new chapter.

Wishing Pudgy, Bear Grillz, Ron, and Darlene many happy, slobbery, joy-filled days ahead.

INTRODUCTION:  Please welcome Pudgy and Bear Grillz to our rescue family!

From their foster momma: These sweet boys came from a loving home where they were deeply cherished. Their mom made the heartbreaking decision to surrender them because her elderly mother, who has Alzheimer’s, is moving in with her.

Pudgy and Bear Grillz love to sprawl out and nap on the floor, and after a few dangerous falls, their mom realized she couldn’t keep everyone safe without confining the dogs—which she knew wasn’t fair to them. With a heavy heart, she chose to surrender them to rescue, hoping we could find them the perfect home together.

About Pudgy & Bear Grillz:

*Both are about 4 years old (not littermates, but very close in age—Pudgy is about 4 months younger).

*These two are bonded and must be adopted as a pair.

*Bear Grillz is a gentle soul who loves everyone—cats included! He is either completely or mostly deaf but responds well to hand signals.

*Pudgy takes his protector role seriously and is a little more cautious. He may try to guard Bear Grillz from other dogs but listens well to correction and respects authority.

At their foster home:

*They are fully house-trained and use a doggy door.

*They are comfortable being kenneled or left out—no food or toy aggression.

*They are very low energy, well-mannered, and an absolute joy to have around.

A few special notes:

*Pudgy gets excited by wheels (like walker wheels), though he hasn’t reacted to a Roomba.

*When neighborhood kids would run and scream, he’d chase their feet—so a home without small, excitable children is probably best.

These boys are bonded by love, loyalty, and shared naps. 💤 They’re looking for a calm, loving home where they can stay side-by-side and continue being the delightful duo they are.
