Beatrice Langley (now Gertrude)

Beatrice Langley (now Gertrude)

8/27/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: After almost three months with us, our sweet Beatrice Langley has officially found her home!

Beatrice Langley was truly an amazing foster dog. She brought so much personality, love, and classic Bulldog silliness into our home, and while saying goodbye is always bittersweet, seeing how beautifully she’s settling into her new life makes it a whole lot easier.

Her adopter says she had a great first night, slept peacefully (with plenty of snoring, of course 😂), and is already getting the hang of her new routine. She’s been busy sniffing, exploring and investigating absolutely everything in her new home.

She’s especially fascinated by the cats… although, apparently, the cats are not nearly as impressed with that big Bulldog body as she is with them.

And perhaps best of all, Beatrice Langley now has a Bulldog brother named Gus to share her new life with!

We were so lucky to love this girl, spoil her and watch her grow over the last three months. But this is why we foster. We get to help them along their journey until they reach this moment… the moment they finally get to go home. ❤️

Happy forever, sweet Beatrice Langley! Now officially known as Gertrude, AKA “Gertie.” You deserve every bit of this happily-ever-after.

Go live your best life, Gertie!

4/29/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Beatrice Langley to our rescue family. She’s not just another pretty face… she’s THE face.

Beatrice Langley has officially joined rescue, and she knows exactly who she is. Some might call her “thick,” but in her mind, she’s a full-fledged runway model. And honestly, we’re not here to argue. This girl is large and in charge, and you’ll find her right in the middle of whatever’s happening. She’s a true social butterfly who loves people, gets along with other dogs and adores kids.

At just 2 years old, Beatrice Langley is equal parts confidence and cuddles. Squishy like a marshmallow, with a personality that fills the room.

Beatrice Langley’s journey here wasn’t due to a lack of love. Her mom found herself unexpectedly staying at the hospital with a family member, leaving Beatrice Langley home alone far too often. Knowing that wasn’t fair to her, and with no clear solution ahead, she made the difficult and selfless decision to surrender Beatrice Langley so she could have the life she deserves.

Beatrice Langley is ready to be matched to one of our approved families. She’s also ready to continue her reign as the queen she was clearly born to be.

ALSO: We need more foster families to say yes to dogs like Beatrice Langley. Without foster parents, we can’t step in when Bulldogs need us most. If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and can open your home (even temporarily), you can make a life-changing difference. Message to learn how to get involved!

6/19/26 UDPATE ~ From Beatrice Langley: I’ve been with my foster mama for a little over two weeks now, and I have officially claimed my title as the house couch potato.

I’ve really come out of my shell and have started showing my foster family my personality, especially when I’m not getting the attention I obviously deserve or when someone is eating food that should probably be shared with me.

I know I’m carrying around a few extra pounds, but those are already starting to disappear thanks to lots of playtime with my foster brothers and a strict “dog food only” diet. Unfortunately for me, my foster parents are bodybuilders, so I got placed with the absolute wrong family if I was planning to stay chunky. 😅

My foster mama tells me all the time that I’m perfect and that I fit into their home like a missing puzzle piece. I love my kennel, but my favorite place to be is right under Foster Mom’s desk while she works, or honestly, anywhere she is. If she goes to the bathroom, I patiently wait outside the door until she comes back. Someone has to supervise, after all.

I’m still learning how to play. Sometimes I’m a little quirky and awkward, and I like to mouth when I get excited, but my foster parents are teaching me how to play gently and I’m catching on quickly.

The good news? I’m fully potty trained, great on a leash, wonderful with kids, love dog toys and get along great with other dogs. My foster family says I’m the total package: low-maintenance, loving and always ready to be your loyal sidekick.

If you’re looking for a ride-or-die best friend who enjoys cuddles, naps and following you from room to room, I might be your perfect match.

7/20/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: We’re coming up on two months of fostering Miss Beatrice Langley, and boy, have we learned her personality!

When this girl wants something, she is not afraid to tell you. Even though this 75-pound lady doesn’t exactly have a beach body, she can easily jump onto the couch. But every now and then, she suddenly becomes “helpless” and politely asks to be lifted up instead. 🤣

We’ve been working hard on her weight-loss journey, and while the number on the scale hasn’t changed much yet, she’s definitely looking less like a barrel and more like a potato with legs.

We also learned over the Fourth of July that she isn’t afraid of fireworks. In fact, she wants to fight them. It took both my husband and me to wrangle her back into the house because she kept “sprinting” back and forth across the yard every time another firework went off.

Despite her occasional bursts of chaos, 95% of the time she’s a lazy Bulldog. Her favorite place is tucked under my desk or curled up in whatever cozy corner of the house she can find. And getting her to go outside for one last potty break before bed? That requires an Oscar-worthy level of convincing every single night. 😂

Miss Beatrice Langley keeps us laughing every day, and we’re so grateful we’ve gotten to know this goofy, stubborn, lovable girl. We know her perfect family is out there, and when they meet her, they’ll understand exactly why we’ve fallen so hard for this special girl.
