12/3/25 UPDATE: We want to send a very special thank you to our amazing volunteers, Tina and Ty, for stepping up last week, right before Thanksgiving, to help transport Ben Franklin to Oklahoma. Their kindness and dedication made it possible for this sweet senior guy to get exactly what he needed.
Because of Ben’s advanced age, our dear friend Jen with Bully For You Rescue and Sanctuary generously offered to take him in, giving him the comfort, care and love every senior pup deserves. We are so grateful for her open heart and for our volunteers who made the journey happen.

11/15/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Ben Franklin to our rescue family. Some dogs break your heart the moment you see them. And Ben Franklin is one of those souls.
At about 10 years old, we’re told Ben Franklin has spent his entire life living outside in the dirt in East Texas. If he was ever loved or part of a family, he doesn’t remember it. When he arrived, he was filthy, missing much of his fur from severe flea damage, and exhausted from the apparent years of neglect. His eyes are in poor condition, and he is high heartworm positive.
Despite everything, Ben Franklin walked into rescue with a gentle spirit, as if he’s still holding onto the hope that life can be kind.
And it can.
Ben Franklin has now been seen by our vet and has started the medications he urgently needs. Our goal is simple: to give him comfort, dignity and the experience of being truly loved for however long he has left.
But dogs like Ben Franklin require extensive and costly care, and we can’t do it without you.
