10/19/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Bernie Mac, now known as Tyrus, is off to start his new life in the Houston area!
His amazing new family, Susan and Stephen, couldn’t be more excited to welcome him home. They made the trip all the way up from Houston to attend Bull-O-Ween on Saturday and stayed to meet Bernie Mac on Sunday for a proper meet-and-greet. It was love at first Bulldog snuggle. 🐶❤️
After their visit, they packed up and hit the road with Tyrus to begin his next chapter, as a beloved family member in his home.
He left with a special bag of goodies, including a custom adoption ornament lovingly handmade by his foster dad, and some freeze-dried chicken hearts (a favorite treat!) made by me.
Wishing Tyrus a life full of belly rubs, couch naps and endless love. 🐾

7/22/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Bernie Mac to our rescue family.
When Bernie Mac found himself at a local animal shelter, he was confused and wondering how he ended up there. After all, he’s just a big ol’ puppy—full of energy, charm and not an ounce of stranger danger in him.
At first, he was sure someone would come looking for him. But as the days passed, Bernie Mac realized no one was coming… so he decided it was time to find a new family—one that would never let him feel lost again. Today, he left the shelter to join rescue.
Other than being a little too skinny and lightning-fast on his feet, Bernie Mac is the picture of Bulldog cuteness. He greets everyone like an old friend and has never met a human he didn’t love.
Bernie Mac is looking for a family that can match his playful energy—and one with plenty of patience and time to help him fine-tune his manners. He’s a lovable whirlwind now, but with the right guidance and a steady routine, he’ll be the total package.

10/16/25 UPDATE from foster boy Bernie Mac: Yes, I know I share a name with someone famous… but trust me, I’m the unforgettable one. 😉
I’ve been living the good life with my amazing foster family, tasty food, fun toys, furry foster siblings and even woodworking lessons (more on that in a sec). But as good as it is here, I’m still missing one big thing…
💔 A family of my very own.
Don’t get me wrong. My foster parents are awesome. I’ve got the doggy door down, I never miss a meal or snack (priorities, right?), and I do my best to help foster dad in his woodshop. But when those big, loud tools come out? Yeah… I tap out. I’ll just supervise from the safety of the doorway, thanks.
One of my favorite humans is the granddaughter. She’s a total blast! We run around outside, play games and I might sneak into her room when no one’s looking. (Can you blame me? Her toys look like they were made for me!)
🐾 I love kids, love adults and really love truck rides, even if foster dad makes me ride safely buckled in the back seat. (He says safety first; I say he drives like he’s in NASCAR. 🏁)
By the way, if you missed the race last weekend, don’t worry. I was cheering on Chase Elliott from the couch, but honestly, if it were up to me, I’d be out there chasing the cars myself. I’m fast, y’all.
I’m sweet, loyal, playful and full of love just waiting to be shared with the right family. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, going for adventures or just being your shadow, I’m so ready to find my person.
