Blackberry Sugarbaker

8/23/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Just two months ago, Blackberry Sugarbaker came into our rescue after being left behind when her family moved away—confused, heartbroken and alone. She had once raised puppies in that home… surely she thought she’d be remembered.

But fate had something better in store.

Today, she officially began the next chapter of her life. She was adopted! Her new mom came to pick her up this morning, and from the moment they met, it was clear: this is a match made in heaven.

Blackberry Sugarbaker will be loved, cherished and spoiled the way she always deserved. Her gentle heart and unbreakable spirit touched all of us, and now she’ll spend her days surrounded by love, not heat or heartbreak.

Congratulations, sweet girl. You’ll never be left behind again. Welcome home, Blackberry Sugarbaker. 💕

6/19/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Blackberry Sugarbaker to our rescue family! When her family moved away, Blackberry Sugarbaker was left behind—confused, heartbroken and alone. She never saw it coming. After all, she once raised puppies in that home… surely they remembered that, didn’t they?

Thankfully, a kind soul saw her in the Texas heat and called for help. Blackberry Sugarbaker was relieved—grateful to finally be safe. Despite everything, she remains as sweet as her name, with a gentle heart and a spirit that still believes in love.

Though her vision is limited due to cherry eye, Blackberry Sugarbaker doesn’t let that dim her shine. She rode quietly and calmly to safety, as if she knew better days were finally on the way—and this time, she’d never be left behind again.

7/20/25 UPDATE:  Blackberry Sugarbaker needs a family! She writes: I’m reporting back from my big excursion this week. Foster mama was concerned about a few things with my recent cherry eye surgery, so she drove me back to see my friends at the Allen Veterinary Hospital.

Man, I walked in that building and was like a celebrity! They were so happy to see me!!! I got lots of butt scratches and pets, and everyone wanted to know how I was doing. I guess I’m kinda popular or something.

After the vet, we stopped over to visit my rescue pal, Dianne. She always enjoys Bulldogs stopping in at her place of work to say hello. We even met a nice lady named Karen who told us she was a foster mom too!

I slept in the car the entire way home. Oh, and the good news? My eyes are in good shape, just need a little extra care. I’m still looking for the perfect home. Think you can handle all this cuteness?

8/4/25 UPDATE: Blackberry Sugarbaker needs a family! From her foster momma: At approximately 4 years old, she’s the SWEETEST little thing with a lot of sass and personality.Blackberry Sugarbaker is house-trained, crate-trained and dog-friendly. She’s in good health and has minimal daily medications.

Her favorite activities include: attacking the vacuum cleaner, stealing bones from her brother (the resident house dog) and playing outside in the hose. She makes a good guard dog, but doesn’t bark too much. She’s perfect in every way.

Ready to add a little sass to your life? Blackberry Sugarbaker may be your match! She’s ready to bring joy, laughter and wet paw prints to her next home. If you’re looking for a dog with spunk, heart and a flair for drama — she checks all the boxes.
