Blanche M. Devereaux (now Tessie)
Happy tails for Blanche M. Devereaux, now known as Tessie. She found her forever family and they have great news to report.
Her family writes, “We are so in love with her! She’s doing great! She loves to lay on the couch and cuddle on the soft furry pillows. She and her kitty brothers are sniffing each other and getting more curious. She’s a celebrity around the neighborhood with everyone so excited to meet her.”
Blanche, aka, Tessie spent the first 4 years of her life as a mill momma and now she’s thriving in her new role as single canine in her home. She loves to play, loves attention and is such a happy girl.
I hopped in the rescue wagon on Sunday and to tell you the truth, I was a little nervous. It was very different than the place I lived and even though my friends Dorothy and Rose joined me, it was still scary. Also, I didn’t feel real pretty because I am in heat and that’s just a mess. Rose stood up and looked out the window and I just laid down in the crate and shook like a leaf. I know good things are in store for me, but I have never been a fan of the unknown. I must believe all the good things I am hearing about this place.
During our first stop, I told Dr. Larsen I need to be carried right now because this thing called a leash is not working for me. And if I don’t make eye contact with you, don’t take it personal. I’m really just scared of all the changes. I’m a little thin right now, but watch my progress in the weeks to come. This little caterpillar is going to transform into a beautiful butterfly right before your very eyes!
5/16/21 Update: Blanche M. Devereaux came home with us this week and this baby was terrified! She’s a 4-year-old mama and everything was new and scary. Fast forward 24 hours, and she’s playful and happy and making herself right at home. I really thought it would take days for her to come around, but she’s grown by leaps and bounds in one week. We are working on potty training at this time. That seems to be her only issue. Check out this sweet little face for yourself!
5/24/21 Update: Blanche checking in with her super cute, floppy ears. She’s digging foster life, loves to play, loves to give kisses and has great manners too!
6/7/21 Update: Miss Blanche checking in to tell you I’m working hard on my potty training. I follow my foster family everywhere. I’m becoming more and more comfortable with our routine every day!
6/15/21 Update: I am really into copying my foster sisters these days. When they get the zoomies, I get the zoomies. When they want to lay in the sun, I want to lay in the sun. Foster Mom only lets me do that for a minute. She told me it was important I didn’t stay out too long and get too hot. I was kind of sad, but I appreciate her looking out for me.
I get along great with all my foster sisters and I love attention from my foster family. They try giving me treats when I potty outside, but I’m not so sure about that. I’d rather have hugs and head scratches when I do good things. I’m a really happy girl and I’m enjoying getting to play in my foster home. Great
