Woohoo!  Blaze on adoption day!

Blaze’s forever family were anxiously awaiting for his arrival. They are bulldog parents. Blaze will now have 2 fur sisters, Snowy & Mocha, and a skin sister Toni.  Blaze will have a family he can call his own. He will be surrounded with love.

Blaze is about 6 years old and was surrendered because his family was no longer able to give him the care he needs. His mom thought he also was  triggering her asthma.

Blaze is a good, sweet boy who loves kids and people. He’s crate trained, goes potty outside and he won’t get on the couch or bed unless invited. He likes to ride in the car, but prefers to sit on the floor so he won’t fall. He’s allergic to chicken/fowl (it makes him itchy and his fur fall out) and he’s afraid of loud trucks, motorcycles, vacuums, acorns when stepped on, blowing leaves and plastic bags.

We know he requires dry eye medication, but Dr. Larsen will give him a full evaluation soon. Stay tuned to learn more about him!

12/7/21 Update:  Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Blaze and I’ve been in rescue for almost a week.

My family loved me enough to realize I needed more care than they could provide for me, medically and financially. My mom cried a lot, but she knew surrendering was the right decision to make for me.

I am a happy, sweet 70 lb big boy. I like kids and people. Cats, too. I ignore them and I don’t go chasing them. The resident cat tested me for a chase, but NO CAN DO.  I’m getting along with my other foster brother, sister and the crazy cat. It just takes a while for me to decompress, but I am working on it.  Foster Mom says that I am a good boy.

I can sit and shake. I’m good on a leash, working on my high fives with Foster Dad and I’m potty trained. I will paw at you for attention or nudge you with my head for more loving. I don’t get on furniture unless you invite me, and I am crate trained.

Regarding my kennel/crate, I would prefer if it was left available for me at any time, especially at bedtime, when I am getting tired during the day or when I get spooked. Foster Mom leaves the kennel door open for me to come and go as I please. I like that very much.

I am allergic to chicken/fowl. It makes me all itchy and my fur falls out. I do get spooked by loud trucks, motorcycles, some vacuums but not all… just loud noises. Foster Mom says we can work on that.

I do have a few medical issues that Dr. Larsen will be treating me for real soon: conjunctivitis in my eye, skin issues and a deep tail pocket. I’ll also be getting neutered.

NOW, the only issue I have is dealing with Foster Mom on which kennel I would prefer… hmmm. The big white one or the smaller black one that is just right for me, which Foster Mom says is too small.

12/10/21 Update:  Blaze is a quiet one.  He has a ninjas walk. I attached a small jingle bell to his collar to know where he is at.  Blaze has been such a good boy.  He is now getting use to going up and down the outside steps.  He was timid at first but NO LONGER.  He beat his fear of stairs and there are a couple more we are weeding out.

He eats good. He takes snacks from your hand so gently.  First he sits and then his mouth opens up wide I mean wide.  Lol.  Too cute.  He will sit at the door to go outside. Enjoys walks and he loves Christmas lights.  He gets mesmerized by them.    Blaze has been with us for a week now and i can only say he is a dream.  Yes he is still trying to get acquainted with us and his foster home but above all Blaze has been super sweet.

1/14/22 Update:    I know you’ve missed me.

I’m here to inform you I was just taking a little time off for myself. I am recovering from surgery. You see, I am going through the healing stage of being snipped and we are working on improving my beautiful skin and coat.  But don’t worry, my ladies…. I am still the suave Casanova I was born to be.

As you can see, I prefer being in the company of a female. Don’t be jealous. That’s my foster sister, who enjoys my company, and the other, well, he is just my foster brother.  We all get along just fine.

There is plenty of me for those seeking a one-of-a-kind companionship.

1/21/22 Update:   Dang. It looks like everyone around here are Dallas Cowboys fans. I guess that makes me one too.

Foster Momma made me help them put up the lights outside, but I preferred staying in my warm bed, as a ladies man would, and just watch someone else do the work… as I get the attention from the ladies.

I am excited that I will be getting my stitches removed this week and because I came to rescue with a slightly infected deep tail pocket, it will be checked out as well. I know it has improved with the meds.

Gotta keep my game going. You know, as a playa, I always need to look my best.  Check out my pics.
