Bode B. Brown has been adopted. His new family writes, “We love our Bode! Bode walked into a house full of bulldogs and instantly gained 3 siblings – Champ, Oreo, and baby Tank. Bode spends his day jumping on the trampoline, running and wrestling outside. He is the sweetest big boy and we are so lucky he’s ours!”
Whew! What an eventful few days it’s been. Chevelle and I have spent the past seven months in a small house with four other Bulldogs and three cats. It wasn’t always easy. Someone in the home told our owner to ‘get rid’ of us, and that included me, Chevelle, and my brother. Sadly, my brother passed away the night before rescue arrived to help us. I don’t know what happened, but he’s not here anymore.
At that house, we were outside a lot, and I’m so relieved to start my new life now. My family was kind, but I guess we were just a bit too much for them.
I was thrilled to meet Carrie, the rescue volunteer! I jumped on her with all 50 pounds of me! I’m definitely a hunk. Chevelle is much more laid-back, though she’s in heat right now.
On the ride out, Chevelle lay calmly in the back seat, while I rode shotgun, licking Carrie’s coffee cup the whole way to the vet. Carrie was definitely awake for the long drive after that — not sure why she didn’t want her coffee anymore, though! I might’ve been a bit too big for the car seat, but I managed to hop back and forth between the front and back to check on Chevelle. Every time I did, I set off the seatbelt chime. Oops!
I was great at the vet, but I wasn’t a fan of the small exam room. That’s when Carrie noticed my fleas and realized how dirty I really was. The vet was super nice, though, and the shots didn’t hurt too much. I do have some ear infections (just like Chevelle), and my eyes have been bothering me. They’re really red, and they keep watering.
But here’s the best news — both Chevelle and I are heartworm negative! We’re sweet, lovable Bulldogs who just need a little TLC. I also need to lose the jewels (whatever that means), and Chevelle needs her spay too.
We’re ready to start our new chapter just in time for the holidays, and we’re hoping to find a family who can give us all the love we deserve. Thank you for giving us this special gift of a new start.
