Boston (now Alfie)

Boston (now Alfie)

1/11/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Boston, now Alfie, has officially hit the jackpot! He’s found the perfect family: experienced Bulldog people who work from home and are fully prepared to meet all his needs. Alfie already has playdates on the calendar and plans to start water therapy once the pool warms up.

Honestly, they’re the lucky ones. Alfie truly is the bestest boy, and we couldn’t be happier for him!

9/14/25 INTRODUCTION:  Please welcome Boston to our rescue family! At 2 years old, Boston may have been born with a tough hand: severe hip dysplasia. Now he’s also dealing with a cherry eye, and a damaged cornea, but he has a heart full of sweetness and a spirit that won’t quit.

His breeder saw no value in him and intended to put him down, but fate stepped in. Boston found a loving family who saw past his challenges and gave him the care and affection every dog deserves.

Unfortunately, after a series of medical setbacks and with surgery looming, his mom made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him, knowing she could no longer give him the care he urgently needed. Their goodbye was full of tears, and Boston, though moving slowly, clearly wanted to follow her one last time.

Long car rides are difficult for him — he arrived in Allen from Fort Worth today stressed and overheated, but we were able to get him calmed down and comfortable. He’ll be seeing specialists soon; we suspect he’ll need palate surgery, in addition to treatment for his eyes and ongoing support for his hips.

Despite everything, Boston is an incredibly gentle, loving boy. A little massage helps him stand, and once he’s up, he gets around just fine.

Boston is a special needs Bulldog, no doubt. But he’s also a special soul. We’re grateful North Texas Giving Day is just around the corner, because he’s going to need a lot of medical care before he’s ready for his next family.

And when that day comes? We know it’ll be the start of something beautiful.

10/21/25 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: This sweet, 2-year-old boy is ready to trade chaos for comfort, and he’s dreaming of a calm, cozy life filled with love, patience and plenty of snuggles.

Boston does have a few challenges, but he’s full of heart. He’s completely potty trained… no worries there! However, he has some eye issues we’re working to fix. He also lives with severe arthritis in his back legs, which makes standing a bit tough. The good news? He can get up on his own and once he’s up, he’s ready to do all the classic Bulldog things, just at his own pace.

His ideal home would be one with someone who has the time and heart to let him move through life slowly and comfortably. If you’re looking for a low-key companion with lots of love to give, Boston may just be your perfect match.

11/18/25 UPDATE ~ We’re working to match Boston to a great family from him! From his foster momma: Boston had a big appointment with the ophthalmologist last week, and we’re happy to share some wonderful news! Although he was born with persistent pupillary membranes in both eyes, which do limit his vision a bit, the specialist confirmed that the condition will not worsen, will not cause blindness and does not require any ongoing eye medication. We are absolutely thrilled!

This sweet boy continues to make steady progress. His back legs are growing stronger, and while he still scoots from time to time, he’s having an easier time getting up and down with the help of his pain meds. He even enjoys taking short little walks.

And of course… he’s being spoiled exactly as he deserves. Boston gets breakfast in bed and dinner delivered wherever he’s decided to park his adorable self for the evening.

This handsome guy is loved beyond measure.

12/5/25 UPDATE ~ From Boston’s foster momma: Boston continues to be the sweetest boy. He loves playing, riding in the car, snacking, and, of course, cuddling. Each night he gets a little “spa session” with back-leg massages and gentle stretching, and paired with some extra exercise, it’s really helping those adorable back legs grow stronger. He’s also fully potty trained and uses the dog door like a total pro. 💛

12/24/25 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Boston visited Dr. Joe at Ables Animal Hospital this week, and we’re relieved to finally have some answers regarding his hip and leg issues.

It appears that Boston was involved in a past accident (possibly being hit by a car) which caused his pelvis to fracture and rotate.

The good news is that he currently shows no signs of arthritis. His discomfort will be managed with medication, which he will most likely need to remain on long-term, along with a joint supplement to support his mobility.

Despite everything he’s been through, Boston is a happy, friendly boy who doesn’t let any of this slow him down. He truly is perfect in every way.
1/2/26 UPDATE ~ We’re working to match Boston to the right family for him! From his foster momma: Boston continues to do absolutely fantastic! He’s such a happy, easygoing guy who loves his toys and is great at keeping himself entertained. One of his favorite pastimes is napping in sunny spots around the house.
He rang in New Year’s Eve with some extra goodies in his dinner bowl, and even wore them around for a bit! 🐾 Boston is fully potty trained and walks beautifully on a leash.
All around, he’s a perfect gentleman and a total joy to have in foster care.
