Brooklyn (now Brookie)

Brooklyn (now Brookie)

Our sweet girl Brooklyn—now going by Brookie—has officially found her perfect family! Her new mom, dad, and fur brother Winston made the long trek all the way from Colorado just to meet her.

Winston can be a bit selective about his canine company, but not with Brookie! From the moment they met, he was smitten—ear licks and all (which, for Winston, is basically saying “I love you” in fluent dog).

Brookie didn’t hesitate to pack her bags and head off to her new home, where the cool Colorado climate suits her fluff just fine. The road trip went off without a hitch—and yes, there was a celebratory pup cup stop along the way!

We couldn’t be happier for Brookie and her amazing new family. Here’s to a life full of love, ear licks, and mountain air.

If Brooklyn could talk, she’d tell you that today was the best day of her life.

When she arrived at the shelter, she was met with immediate love and care. But Brooklyn’s journey hasn’t been easy—her fur has been shaved, and she’s battling a severe tail infection that’s so intense, you can smell her before you see her.

Her stomach area is one large, painful scald, and her eyes and ears are in rough shape. This sweet girl appears to have been bred multiple times, and she was likely discarded in the cold when she was no longer needed as a breeding Bulldog.

Despite all of her medical challenges, Brooklyn remains as sweet and gentle as can be. At an estimated 4 years old, she’s showing us what true resilience and sweetness are all about.

Welcome to the best life ever, Brooklyn! Your future is looking brighter already.

3/14/25 Update:  Brooklyn recently moved into her foster home and has quickly settled in without any issues. She’s getting along well with the resident dogs and, while she’s curious about the cat, she respects his space after a bit of investigation.

We’re continuing to work on healing her skin and eyes, but despite this, she’s a joyful and content girl. She enjoys short walks, some playtime, and then a cozy nap. She’s also focused on shedding a few extra pounds. Brooklyn would be a wonderful addition to any home, as she loves to be close to her people and brings plenty of warmth and affection.

3/20/25 Update:  Brooklyn has had another wonderful week and continues to be her happy, playful self! She loves being close to her people, especially when there’s activity in the kitchen. Lately, she’s been experimenting with veggies and, so far, there’s nothing she doesn’t like.

Her skin and eyes are showing great improvement, though she’ll likely need daily eye drops for the rest of her life to keep her feeling her best.

Brooklyn is fully potty trained and prefers to sleep in her crate at night, though we leave the door open so she can come and go as she pleases.

She’s an absolute delight and will undoubtedly bring joy to any home lucky enough to have her!
