Cagney (now Onyx)

Cagney (now Onyx)

2/21/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Cagney found her new family a few weeks ago and what a perfect match it is! 💕

Chelsea, her new fur-sister Katla, and their grandpa made the trip all the way from Louisiana to Texas to bring this sweet girl home. From the very first meeting, Cagney let her sassy personality shine, but her entire back end was nothing but happy wiggles!

Chelsea has rescued many Bulldogs over the years, and she immediately recognized how truly special Cagney is. It didn’t take long to know she belonged.

Now this happy girl is living her very best life, surrounded by love, family and new friends. And with her fresh start comes a beautiful new name. Cagney is now Onyx. 🖤

We couldn’t be more thrilled for this sweet girl and her amazing family!

1/3/26 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Cagney to our rescue family!

Cagney and Lacey have known each other for a few years, but they are not bonded and can be placed separately. Despite being under the age of 4, they’ve already lived in far too many places, passed around from home to home and spending time in a shelter or two along the way.

Through it all, Cagney and Lacey have remained as sweet as can be. Both girls are spayed and will need a bit of routine vetting before they’re ready to begin their search for new homes, but their hearts are already wide open and ready for love.

🐾 Foster homes are urgently needed in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Fostering saves lives and allows dogs like Cagney and Lacey to decompress, heal and show who they truly are.

🏡 Adoption note: While fosters must be local to DFW so they can stay close to our partner vets and events, we can adopt to approved families throughout the country.

If you can foster, adopt or help spread the word, you are making a life-changing difference.

1/12/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Cagney is doing wonderfully in her foster home and continues to show what a special girl she is.

She recently completed her vetting and, for the most part, received a clean bill of health.

Cagney is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would happily spend her days curled up beside you on the couch. At night, she’s begun sleeping on a dog bed in the humans’ room. And she absolutely loves a big, fluffy bed.

Cagney is still working on house training. A bell has been added so she can be monitored at night, and while she marked a few beds early on, it’s only been about two weeks. She’s learning my routine, and I’m learning hers, and together we’re making great progress.

Cagney at a glance:
*House-training in progress
*Crate trained
*Knows “sit”
*Dog-friendly
*Sweet, gentle, and submissive, with a touch of sass around some pups (nothing concerning)
*100% perfect at the vet
*Managing skin allergies; currently on antibiotics and may need Apoquel or a similar medication long-term
*Petite in size, big on affection

Cagney is a loving little lady who’s settling in beautifully and will make a wonderful companion for the right home.
