Calvin Alan

Calvin Alan

Hooray! Calvin Alan has been adopted! Picture and story to follow.

When Calvin Alan was lost during Christmas week, he thought someone would come looking for him.

After all, he was all over social media. It was no secret he had been out and about in the Fort Worth/Watauga area.

However, as the days turned into a week, he realized no one missed him. He would just have to make the best of a bad situation.

On New Years Day, Calvin Alan jumped in the rescue wagon and headed for a new life with some new people.

Calvin is 100% a joy to be around. He loves to lay on his back and have his belly rubbed. He loves other dogs, is great on a leash and enjoys going for walks. He has some skin problems we’re going to work on, but so far, that’s the only issue we see.

Welcome, Calvin Alan, to 2024. This year has got to be better than last year for you.

1/30/24 Update:  Calvin Alan is a REALLY sweet boy who gets along with anyone and everyone.

He likes other dogs (boys and girls) and loves kids. He also loves

treats, pets, giving kisses and playing with toys. He’s very low

maintenance and will go to his crate happily at night to go to sleep.

He’s potty trained and has learned how to use the dog door, although he prefers to go outside to go potty and come right back in. He’s a little nervous about going outside on his own and being left outside. I think he might have been left outside for long periods of time and just wants to be with his people and dog friends inside.

He’s a very sweet and kind boy and will do great in almost any home. No food aggression or guarding. He waits his turn in line for a treat, although we have been feeding him separately, just in case he likes to share dishes (which our dogs do not like to do).

When he gets really excited, he can try to hump another dog for a minute. He corrects quickly and backs down immediately when another dog tells him that is not acceptable. He’s learning his manners very quickly.

He got his stitches out and other than needing to put on some more weight, is good to go. He’ll be a great addition for a lucky family!
