Caroline has been adopted! From her foster momma: It was a match made in heaven for Caroline when Cathy and Trent and rescue alumni Spanky drove from Colorado to meet her! These folks have had Bulldogs for 18 years and these Bulldogs are their heart. Trent once was the president of Lone Star Bulldog Club many years ago. Caroline and Spanky looked amazing when they left for the cooler weather in Colorado!
Sweet Caroline was bought as a puppy by a breeder to use in his breeding program. Caroline went into heat and was overcome with demodex. Overnight, Caroline began to itch and turn red, and then it began to spread. Caroline rushed to the vet to find out about her condition. She was told, “What you have most likely was passed from your mother and Sweet Caroline, your show days just might be over!” The breeder could no longer use her because of the demodex mange. We should be able to clear this up in a couple of months and she will be ready to adopt. Other than that, she seems perfect in every way.
1/19/17 Update: Caroline has spent some time at the vet and is now in her foster home. She will get her spay this week. She is getting daily medications and medicated baths for her skin and she already looks much better.
1/22/17 Update: Caroline has a family, previous adopters and they are gonna love this Caroline. Caroline’s skin looks better overnight, and the red whelps have turned to pink and the scratching has stopped. Caroline to longer bites at her feet or licks constantly . In 30 days Caroline will be scraped again to see if the mites are dead.
