Champ Russell

Champ Russell

Last Sunday, Champ Russell had a meet and greet and he immediately knew that the person walking in the door was there to meet him. It was a perfect match!

Champ was adopted on Friday and he and his new dad are two peas in a pod! These two are going to have many wonderful adventures ahead of them.

I have no idea how I got lost. And why did no one come looking for me? I’ve been waiting since August 4. That’s when I was picked up walking down the street

I know someone loved me. They had to have. I’m already neutered and I was clean. Nothing about me says I was not wanted.

But I stayed at the local shelter, hanging out, until they were 100% certain no one was looking for me.

So here I am… three weeks later, joining rescue, ready to search for a new family who will make sure I don’t get lost.

My new shelter friends called me their baby. They told me I was the cutest Bulldog that they had ever seen.

They think I might be about a year old and I’m not very big. I’m just about the perfect size!

I had a lesson in leash walking today, but it didn’t go as expected. I wanted to go one way; my friend wanted to go the other way. So, I just laid down. My friend called me stubborn. She said I was too heavy to carry, but that I would learn ‘later.” Not sure about that. I have a nap scheduled for “later”

9/5/23 Update:  Champ Russell is settling into his foster home and soon we will conquer “all pups potty outside” rule.

Because he’s young, he likes to taste/chew things, so we make sure we give him appropriate toys.

His stitches come out Tuesday, so in the meantime, he sports the inflatable cone of shame.

I was able to snag a few pics of him when he is sitting…. well, sleeping… still.

9/12/23 Update:   Champ Russell continues to settle into his foster home. He loves being around all the other dogs in the house and is content to play with them or to play solo. He is getting the hang of potty training, and getting our routines down. His favorite thing is to snuggle up for a good nap.

9/27/23 Update:  Every morning, Champ Russell welcomes the day with a little yoga (downward dog) to start things off with a grateful heart. He is a sweet puppy who is silly, playful, and a little clumsy as he tries to figure out his body. He loves to chew on his toys as much as he loves to snuggle. He is patiently waiting to be adopted.
