11/2/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Chewbarka had plenty of interest while he was in rescue, but for one reason or another, he kept getting overlooked. Until the Owens family came along!
From the moment they saw him, they knew they wanted to meet him. I truly believe things happen for a reason, and the reason Chewbarka was overlooked time and time again was because his perfect family was still out there waiting for him!
The Owens family has a young girl named Bella. Recently, they lost their beloved young male dog, and the entire family was devastated. Bella, in particular, was heartbroken. As a young, energetic pup, she was missing her playmate and best friend.
But the moment Chewbarka walked into her home, it was as if a little piece of Bella’s happiness had returned. The two immediately hit it off! They played, ran, chased each other and brought so much life and joy back into the home.
Tod and Laurie were absolutely thrilled to see the happiness return to Bella. Their daughter Shannon was just as excited, and the entire family was over the moon!
But what touched my heart the most was seeing the joy on the Owens family’s faces as they watched Bella come alive again.
Sometimes, an adoption is about more than finding a dog a home. It’s about bringing happiness, companionship and love back into a family.
Chewbarka, you weren’t overlooked after all. You were just waiting for the family that was meant to be yours!

8/7/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Chewbarka to our rescue family!
Somewhere in a galaxy not so far away, a Bulldog named Chewbarka was searching for a fresh start.
Life hadn’t always been easy for this sweet boy, but through it all he never lost his gentle spirit or his signature Bulldog charm. Armed with an impressive collection of wrinkles, a powerful snore and a tail that wags at the promise of love, Chewbarka has officially entered the care of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.
He’s settling in, getting the care he deserves and showing everyone that beneath that tough-looking mug is a big softie who just wants a family to call his own.
Over the next few weeks, Chewbarka will receive the medical care, good food and plenty of TLC he needs.

9/6/26 UPDATE ~ Update from the foster momma: Chewbarka is everything you want in a puppy!
He is submissive, ridiculously playful and just a little bit annoyingly energetic, which is especially true when you have a house full of older pups who would prefer that puppies come with an OFF switch! 😂
So far, Chewbarka has been a very good boy and hasn’t chewed anything he shouldn’t. He is perfectly happy chewing on his toys instead. He’s a little slow in the house-training department, but he’s making progress and is definitely starting to figure things out.
Chewbarka does have a sensitive tummy, so a good-quality food is a must for this fella. Small, frequent meals seem to work best for him. When he gets overly excited, he can occasionally throw up, especially if he drinks too much water at once. He has had X-rays of his chest and esophagus, and everything looks as good as it can.
Chewbarka has ONE SPEED: ON! 🚀 He goes full throttle until bedtime, and then he crashes like a toddler after a long day at Disney World.
