Guess whose prince finally came? That’s right ~ our very special girl, Cinder Ella, found her prince! Well, not technically her prince, but she got a family: a mama, daddy, two human brothers and a fur sister.
Jim and Leslie, along with their two teenage sons and Bulldog, Dixie, attended Bull-O-Ween hoping to meet the perfect Bulldog who could eventually come home with them.
Leslie had been through all the Bulldogs on our website. She knew so many of these precious babes by name and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Cinder Ella. She seemed to get along well with Dixie and of course, all the humans in the family just adored her!
Fast forward to the weekend before Halloween… She was loaded into her carriage and made the trip to Dallas to meet this lovely family at their home to see if they would be a good fit for her. She wasn’t there more than 10 minutes and had already found her own chew bone and spot on the couch.
Dixie spent much of their first visit together suckling her emotional support toy, but for the most part, they were indifferent to each other. Jim, Leslie and the boys, on the other hand, had hearts in their eyes.
We spent about 2.5 hours letting everyone get to know each other and by the end of our visit, Cinder Ella was snoring comfortably with her head resting on Leslie’s leg.
Needless to say, the family decided that Cinder Ella would be theirs and them hers forever.
On Halloween night, Cinder Ella was once again loaded into her chariot and was whisked away to her forever. Her name is now Bella, and her mama works from home, so she’ll get all the love and attention she deserves.
Bulldog friends, this week was one of the best weeks of my life!
Yesterday I got to see my sister. My real sister. And neither of us knew it was going to happen until it did. My name is Cinder Ella and I have joined rescue.
I had been on the family farm long enough and I heard the rescue wagon was coming to town and I was packed and ready to roll. It was like, “oh happy day for me!” I got out out of the SUV and was sitting in the rescue wagon just looking around feeling really happy and dreaming about my new life when all of a sudden a car pulled in next to me and then it happened, my sister Sara Bella hopped out. Seriously I started shaking and dancing in the the crate and screaming her name. Sara Bella finally looked up and saw me and she almost fainted. It was a magic moment. And it was the best reunion ever. We got in the same crate and it was a bulldog moment. We both cried.
We are now 4 years old and we have both aged well. Our fur is fabulous, and our personalities are still the same. We love everyone and we have never met a stranger. Today Dr. Larsen is going to hold me and my sister Sara Bella in her lap, and what a fabulous day this is going to be!
4/4/23 Update: I’m loving life in my foster home! I love belly rubs, ear scratches, kisses, my dog bed and every person and dog I’ve met. I greet my foster family every day with a happy little booty shake.
The only things I don’t like are thunderstorms (I like really don’t like thunderstorms) and loud things, like that vacuum cleaner. Those things stress me out some, but that’s about it.
I was a little timid around my 8-year-old foster skin sister initially, but I warmed up to her quickly. I think a home without really young kids would be best for me.
I’m a very smart girl and I’m learning to go in and out the screen door and to potty when I’m outside. I’m just generally a happy-go-lucky Bulldog.
4/25/23 Update: Cinder Ella is loving foster life! She got a new bed and is starting to play with toys and chews. Initially, this sweet girl followed me from room to room and wouldn’t go outside without me. Now, you can find her piled up in her new bed when she’s ready to snooze and sunning with the other pups in the backyard on these cool spring mornings. She occasionally gets the zoomies and greets you every day with a tail wag and booty shake.
5/2/23 Update: I’m checking in to report that I have a new day job…. I’m a work-from-home-office dog.
Foster Mom started a new job and she set up this sweet office with dog beds and dog toys. I’ve been the best office mate. I stretch out under her desk to keep her feet warm or snooze quietly beside her next to my favorite chew toy.
On our break times, I enjoy sunning with my foster siblings in the backyard. I’ve already picked out my favorite spot in the yard.
So, future family, if you are looking for a great work-from-home companion, I may be your girl.
5/12/23 Update: Cinder Ella continues to be one of the cutest, sweets and happiest Bulldogs around. She’s grown so much! She spends time soaking up the sunshine when she’s not being the best office mate. She always greets you with a tail wag and sometimes she gets frisky and prances around.
5/18/23 Update: Cinder Ella found a look alike this weekend. What do you guys think? Panda or Bulldog? They both are black and white and snooze most of the day. She also helped with the yard work as official flower sniffer.
5/30/23 Update: Foster girl Cinder Ella wants her future forever family to know that she’s not much of a morning dog.
She shares: Foster Mom gets me up every morning to start the day and I run right back to my dog bed. I’m more of a night dog. I get real frisky and playful after my skin sister goes to bed.
I continue to be the best office-mate you can get. I’ll snooze next to you all day while you work. Foster Mom says I’m the sweetest and happiest Bulldog she’s ever met!
7/18/23 Update: Cinder Ella (middle) is settling into her temporary foster home. She loves hanging with all her foster siblings, including Paula Deen. She will be headed to the clinic for some testing and hopefully, a furever home soon after!
8/18/23 Update: Cinder Ella quickly found her place in our foster home on the couch (my fault for providing steps to access said couch) and does not move off of there for much.
When I take her outside, I have to hope she is ready to do her business. Otherwise, she spends her time out there trying to pull back in to the house. I wish I knew why she was so hesitant to go outside!
She is a round gal and perfectly gorgeous the way she is (minus a few pounds). She’s sweet, loving and always eager to roll over to give you her belly for pettings.
She likes to cozy up on the couch and will go right back to her spot if you ignore her for too long.
She and the resident curmudgeon, alumnus Colt, are just fine together… she ignores him and he ignores her.
She would do well in a household looking for a true couch potato! Is that you?
8/22/23 Update: Eyebrows are the one thing you can get into shape without exercising.
From her foster momma: Cinder Ella loves the couch. She is happy to just sit with you… as long as you are on “her” couch.
She is the sweetest girl and perfect for someone looking for a “perma-chill” partner.
She looks forward to meeting you and convincing you that she is perfect. Just like her eyebrow.
8/31/23 Update: Cinder Ella is so darn sweet. I am sure her prince (or princess) is out there. If that is you, here’s what you need to know:
She’s improving on walking out of the house, but is still trying to grasp about doing her business out there. She will come out, she will sit, she will hang…that’s about it. She wasn’t confident about leaving the inside comforts of the house at first, so the fact that she follows me once the leash is on, is a big step.
After 10 days of not going past the living room or off the couch (for the most part), she finally ventured in to Foster Mom’s bedroom, braving the cantankerous house Bulldog to make her way to the bed near me.
She was so happy with herself and has been coming in for the past few day to enjoy the bed (one of three in the rooms that, according to the cantankerous Bulldog, was HIS bed, not hers).
She loves to sit with me on the couch, she loves to have her face mushed and belly rubbed.
She is consistent about using the potty pads exactly where she “showed” me to place them and has had no accidents outside of that area.
I bet she can love you the same way if you give her a chance so get your applications in before her debut at the debutante ball…. Bull-O-Ween!
9/12/23 Update: Cinder Ella continues to worm her way in to our hearts with her sweet face and desire to be loved.
She knows to leave the resident Bulldog alone. Instead, she’ll do what she can to get time near her foster mom.
She is looking for a snuggle buddy!
9/27/23 Update: Foster Mom keeps talking about finding my next family, but so far, no luck. Here I am sitting by the door, waiting for my prince or princess to come. I even stepped outside to see if s/he was there. I’ll keep waiting. Please hurry up and fill out your application to hopefully make me yours!
10/5/23 Update: It’s me, your favorite princess! I’m looking rather forlorn I am as I await my debut at the 2023 Bull-O-Ween
You see, not only do I hope to find my handsome prince, I also hope to find my next family.
All I want is to be loved on and cuddled. Although Foster Mom says I am a chonk – I think she is playing the part of the “evil” stepmother.
Hope to see you at the big party on Oct. 14!
