Daisy Duck Maeflower (now Clara)

Daisy Duck Maeflower (now Clara)

Daisy Duck Maeflower’s new parents are true Bulldog enthusiasts. Mike and Martha adopted Margo Rita (formerly Dottie Gumdrop) in 2017, and she quickly became the queen of their home.

Margo Rita was a bit of a loner—she preferred her own company over that of other dogs or even some people. But Mike and Martha showered her with love and affection every single day.

When Margo Rita unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge, she took a piece of their hearts with her. The house felt too quiet without her distinctive Bulldog sounds and cozy cuddles, so Mike and Martha decided it was time to open their hearts to another rescue dog.

When they met Daisy Duck Maeflower, it was love at first sight. She was a bundle of energy, happily jumping up to sit beside Mike. While she bears a resemblance to their beloved Margo Rita, she has longer legs and a vastly different personality—Daisy Duck Maeflower is sociable with other dogs and adores people. They’ve decided to name her “Clara,” inspired by Aunt Clara from Bewitched.

Clara will enjoy the company of her dad at home since he’s retired, and her mom works from home on some days. She has already explored every bed in the house, including Mike and Martha’s, much to their delight.

I’ve always known love and had a family, but after my mama passed away and my daddy traveled frequently, he knew I needed a new home where I could be loved and spoiled just like before. So, he helped me hitch a ride on the rescue wagon.

I’m a big-boned gal weighing about 77 lbs and I’m around 5 years old. I’m as sweet as can be, and my tail hasn’t stopped wagging since I arrived. I’m thrilled to be with my foster family and other foster dogs. I love snuggling on the couch, chewing on my toys, and being right by your side. If you’re looking for a loving companion like me, maybe we’ll be a perfect match.

9/12/24 Update: It takes a lot of beauty rest to look this gorgeous! I catch a nap in all the best places: on the couch, on my pillow, in my foster mom’s office or even ON my foster mom.

I’m looking for a family to call my own who has lots of comfy places for a beautiful gal like me to call home.

9/20/24 Update:  Foster Mom says that I am a perfect pup ~ so much so, that I got to go on a field trip today! I was a four-legged ambassador for Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue and met a possible new foster family. They agreed that I was the best Bulldog they have ever met! I love everyone I meet, from little humans to big humans, and little dogs to big dogs. I’m just a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and is looking for a family for my happily ever after.
