Daytona

We are so excited to share that our playful and lovable Daytona has officially been adopted!

A little over a week ago, Daytona met Mike and his sidekick Seymore (who Mike recently adopted from Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue), and the connection was instant. The pups hit it off right away, and just a few days later, Mike returned to make Daytona a part of his family.

Daytona and Seymore are full of energy and are already creating a beautiful bond — playing nonstop and filling their home with so much joy. We are so grateful to Mike for opening his heart once again and giving Daytona the loving home he deserves.

Congratulations, Mike! We know this is just the beginning of a lifetime of love, laughter and Bulldog shenanigans!

At just 15 months old, Daytona is the definition of adorable! With his striking good looks and charming personality, he’s impossible not to love.

Daytona is joining rescue through no fault of his own. Due to some changes in his family’s situation, his dad became an over-the-road truck driver, and unfortunately, Daytona couldn’t come along for the ride. Despite having another adult at home, he found himself alone most of the time, with no one to play with. He spent many days relaxing on the patio furniture, watching time pass by.

Surrendering Daytona was an incredibly tough decision for his dad, who had always dreamed of having a Bulldog. Letting go of someone you love is never easy, but he knew that Daytona deserved more attention and companionship than he could provide with his demanding schedule.

After a visit to the vet for neutering and to have his cherry eye fixed, Daytona will be all set to find a new family. He’s ready for the love, playtime, and care he deserves, and we know he’s going to make the most amazing companion for some lucky family!

2/20/25 Update:   We brought Daytona into our foster home last Saturday, and he’s already settled in beautifully. This sweet boy is recovering from cherry eye surgery and his neuter, but despite it all, he’s doing wonderfully!

Daytona can be a little needy—well, maybe we should say “wanty” because he absolutely craves your attention and reassurance. At just 15 months old, he’s full of energy and has a playful spirit that’s contagious. He’s also a quick learner! By day three, he had already mastered the doggy door and figured out that outside is the place for potty breaks. He’s eager to please and picks up new things fast.

Daytona gets along fantastically with the other dogs in the house, playing happily with everyone and loving his time spent with his furry friends. He’s all about the affection and is never shy about giving kisses to those who will accept them.

Once Daytona is fully healed in about a week, he’ll be on the lookout for his next family. Based on what we’ve seen so far, we think he’d thrive best in a home without small children. He’s a bit bigger and, with his energetic zoomies, has nearly taken his foster mom and dad down a few times! An active family with plenty of space for him to burn off energy would be ideal.

Thank you for helping us give Daytona a second chance at a happy, loving life.

2/26/25 Update:  Daytona is making great progress in his foster home! He goes into his kennel at bedtime without fuss for a treat. He’s an early riser—usually needing a potty break between 4-5 a.m.. He still has occasional accidents in his kennel, but he’s improving. Daytona is very affectionate and loves to be near his people—he’s a loyal little shadow!

Car rides are still a bit scary for him, but we’re working on helping him see that adventures can be fun.

4/2/25 Update:  Our sweet foster pup Daytona is AVAILABLE and looking for his perfect match!

So many people fell in love with him at last Sunday’s Bulldog Bonanza — and we totally get it!

Here’s the scoop on this lovable goofball:

Age: About 16 months old

Energy level: High-octane puppy power

Kiddo compatibility: Loves children, but he’s a bit too enthusiastic for little ones — he might bowl them over with love (literally!)

Goofy alert: He’s head-butted both Mike and me we’ve learned to brace ourselves when he’s zoomin’ our way!

Housebroken? 100%! Thanks to the doggy door, he’s got it down

Dog-friendly: YES! He plays great with all the other pups around here

Leash and car stuff:

He’s still timid around the front door and porchl

Car rides? Great!

Getting into the car? Needs time and treats.

Walks? Fine when he can follow his dog buddies! Too far from home? He gets a little nervous.

Sleeping style: Daytona sleeps in his kennel at night (sometimes pees in it — we think he’s just mad he’s not snuggling in bed with us).

LOVES being in bed or in your lap for hugs and snuggles — total cuddle bug.

Separation anxiety: Yep, he’s got a bit of it.

Left alone? He may find some “creative” ways to entertain himself (AKA mischief!).

Spa days: Approved!

Daytona LOVES bath time — especially the blow dryer part!

He soaks up all the pampering and struts around like a prince afterward. Think “fluffy model on a runway” vibes!

This boy is pure love, just needs someone with patience, time and a good sense of humor!

If you know someone looking for a snuggly, energetic, big-hearted pup, Daytona might just be the one!
