11/3/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Happy tails for sweet boy Diego! He found his home in Louisiana!
He’s the only pup in the house and will be spoiled rotten, just as he deserves. His new family are lifelong Bulldog lovers who recently lost their beloved Bulldog. When they saw Diego, they couldn’t believe how much he resembled their previous dog, right down to those unique, soulful eyes.
Diego’s new dad is retired, so he’ll have a full-time companion for all his adventures, and his new mom works in a vet office and is ready to give him the very best care.
From the moment they met, Diego’s famous smile said it all. He knew he was home. 🏡
We’re beyond grateful to everyone who helped Diego on his journey. He’s off to heal hearts and start a brand-new chapter full of love

INTRODUCTION: Hola mi amigos. My name is Diego. I joined rescue and I’m not looking back!
I am a member of Familia de Tres. I’m the handsome brother of the group. The first thing that may catch your attention are my eyes. I seem to get compliments about them daily.
I’m lightweight and looking for a home where I can put on some muscle. I have a great personality and love to play. There is a lil’ puppy here and we play tag constantly.
Foster Pops tells me I have a follow-up vet appointment this Thursday. He said something about harvesting nuts. I’m no farmer, but sounds kind of strange. I’m down to try anything once I guess.
My wish is to find a home that accepts all my family members. Going to be a good boy in hopes that may happen.

Diego and Frida found a marvelous family!
These two came into rescue just in time. They were getting evicted and were scrambling to find a place to stay. Casa de Meza came to the rescue and took them in, along with the dogs’ mom, Lentil.
Come to find out, Lentil loves her space, but Diego and Frida remained attached at the hip. They are so bonded, we knew they needed to be adopted together.
They had a meet and greet and it was love at first sight.
Megan and TJ are previous adopters who unfortunately lost their Bulldog a few weeks ago. If you a Bulldog parent, you know the silence of not having a fur baby in the house is deafening.
Thankfully, they opened their home and their hearts to adoption again and are again a happy family.
Diego and Frida will now save the galaxy and be called Drax and Rocket. They are so lucky to now be with their new family!
8/22/25 UPDATE: Please welcome Diego back to our rescue family! He asked us to share a little note from him:
“Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you hope. I loved my dad so much and he loved me right back. But sometimes, life throws changes at you that you just can’t control. My dad had to make an incredibly hard decision, and even though it broke his heart, he knew what was best for me.
He packed up all my favorite things: my harnesses, cozy winter clothes, the toys I love most, and my comfiest blankets — and brought me to my foster home with tears in his eyes. We were both so sad, but we knew this was what I needed.
I’m settling in now, finding all the coziest spots and starting to feel at home again. My journey isn’t over. It’s just taking a new turn. Thank you to everyone who supports pups like me when life gets complicated.”
Welcome back, sweet Diego 💙 We’ve got you, and we will find you a perfect new place to call home.
9/16/25 UPDATE: From the foster momma: Diego is doing well in his foster home. This sweet guy is all about couch naps, car rides and soaking up love wherever he can get it. 🛋️🚗💕
He recently had a visit from a few lovely former Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue ladies and he was very happy to play host! 🐶💃 His charm knows no bounds.
This week, Diego visited a vet specialist and we learned he’ll need surgery to correct an elongated soft palate. While we get that lined up, he’s going to keep living his best life, with snuggles, snacks and butt wiggles on repeat.
Stay tuned for updates and send Diego all the good vibes!

10/4/25 UPDATE: Foster boy Diego just broke out of the vet’s office! ♥ From the foster momma: After spending some time at the vet recovering from soft palate surgery, Diego is finally back with his foster fam. And he’s got a whole lot more pep in his step!
Diego is feeling better than ever and he’s making up for lost zoomies with gusto. Every morning kicks off with a full dose of playtime, tug-of-war and Bulldog mischief… until it’s time for a well-earned nap (wherever he pleases, of course). 🐶💤
His surgery has improved his breathing and overall quality of life. He still rocks a raspy, soulful bark that’s all his own and it just adds to his charm! 🐾❤️
10/27/25 UPDATE: We’re working to match Diego to a great family! He shares: I’ve been keeping busy as my foster mom’s trusty work-from-home assistant. She says I’m the best co-worker. I stay in my workspace with my toys, follow directions and only occasionally nap on the job. 😴
Of course, I take my duties seriously: reminding foster mom to take regular petting breaks and providing moral support during long meetings.
She says I bring the perfect mix of professionalism and cuddles to every workday. And I’m ready to bring that same energy to my next home. Could I be your next loyal (and adorable) co-worker? ♥
