10/12/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT…. times two!

From volunteer Carrie: If you remember our post from last week, Diesel Dallas and Tyler had a sweet little playdate because something wonderful was in the works. We’re thrilled to share that both of these precious pups have been adopted, and not just that.. they’re now official fur brother and sister!

The Kelley family, no strangers to Bulldog love, were heartbroken after the loss of their previous pup. Ready to open their hearts again, they set out from Arizona on a long journey to Texas to find their new companion. But during the process, something clicked. They realized that if they were coming all this way, why not make it double the love? And just like that, Diesel and Tyler found their home together.

Now settling into their new life, they’re getting to know their extended fur family, including a service dog sibling, and are already thriving.

We couldn’t be happier for the Kelley family, Diesel and Tyler. Here’s to second chances, road trips and the joy of finding your people.

8/9/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Diesel Dallas to our rescue family! From volunteer Dianne: There are two things Diesel Dallas knows for sure:
1️⃣ His birthday is April 10, 2022.
2️⃣ He’s been rescued not once, but twice—and he considers himself one lucky pup.

Diesel’s story is still a bit of a mystery to him. Just a few weeks ago, two kind-hearted people saw he wasn’t being treated well. He was neglected, underfed, and in need of kindness. These two weren’t planning to adopt, but as lifelong French Bulldog lovers, they couldn’t walk away. They brought him home, gave him proper meals, took him on spa days, and slowly helped him begin to heal. And when they felt he was ready for a fresh start, they reached out to us.

Diesel Dallas is a sweet Bulldog with a quiet soul. Most of his life was spent inside a crate—around the clock. Even now, if a crate door is open, he’ll quietly walk in and sit, staring ahead like he’s waiting for something… or nothing. Loud noises or sudden movements still startle him, and he’ll retreat to what he sees as his “safe place.”

He’s not scared of me—but he is cautious. It’s clear he wants connection, he just hasn’t quite figured out how. We’re taking things slow. These days, he’s starting to trust—sitting near me, even placing himself on my feet for comfort. Still, his eyes dart back and forth, as if he’s bracing for something that never comes.

But here’s the beautiful part: every day, Diesel Dallas takes a step forward. He’s learning that gentle hands don’t hurt, that meals come regularly, and that kindness is the new normal.

His past may have shaped him, but it won’t define him. Diesel Dallas is on the road to becoming the dog he was always meant to be—and we’re honored to walk that journey with him.

10/1/25 UPDATE: We’re working to match Diesel Dallas to the right family for him! From volunteer Carrie: If I had to describe Diesel Dallas in just one word, it would be “sweet.” He is one of the gentlest, most loving dogs. All he wants is to be close to you, to soak up your affection and to give plenty of kisses in return. 💋

Diesel Dallas is incredibly affectionate. His favorite thing is to place his paws gently in your lap, look up at you with those big, soulful eyes, and silently say, “Please love me.” And once you start petting him? That little tail nub wiggles faster than any Bulldog I’ve ever seen!

Here’s a bit more about this wonderful boy:

🐶 He gets along beautifully with other dogs

🚶‍♂️ Walks well on leash

🚗 Loves car rides (he tries to hop in any time we pass the car in the garage!)

🍖 Knows how to sit for a treat and is very food-motivated

💤 Sleeps quietly in his crate all night — he walks in on his own and never makes a sound

🐕‍🦺 A little on the thin side, so a few extra snacks wouldn’t hurt!

While Diesel Dallas is usually calm and relaxed throughout the day, he does get the zoomies sometimes in the evenings when we’re outside. It’s pure joy to watch him bounding happily around the yard. 🌙💨

Diesel Dallas has likely been through some tough times. Occasionally, loud noises will startle him, and he’ll momentarily cower, but it passes quickly, and he’s right back to asking for love and comfort. His heart is so open and his resilience is inspiring.

This boy has so many wonderful qualities: affectionate, gentle, calm, playful, loyal…. and any family would be lucky to call him their own.
