Early Saturday morning, Diesel William had a visit with Jaie and Tracy who drove five hours to come meet him!
As soon as they came out of the car, Diesel was hopping around to impress them, showing them his best basketball moves, and listening to his foster mom tell them all about him.
Rumor has it that Jaie and Tracy (who are former Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue adopters) spent an hour talking to Miss Renea about all the amazing Bulldogs in rescue to see who would be the best match for their active family, and Diesel will not disappoint! He jumped right into the car and never looked back.
He is excited to be a family man, reaping the rewards of his family’s training experience and has already met the neighborhood kids who brought him gifts. We are so excited for Diesel and his new family!
Diesel here and this week I joined rescue!
I am pretty sure that I am the cutest bulldog around. No sad stories for me. I had a family and they lived on the third floor. That’s a lot of climbing for these short legs. I got tired of climbing and so did my family. My family placed an ad looking for a new home for me. And I sure am glad the person who picked me up was a rescue person because you never know about bulldogs and ads.
Actually, my new friends have a rescue. It’s not a bulldog rescue, but they thought “What the heck, you will love it in our rescue.” And I did. I was even adopted to a family that had never had a bulldog and they were overwhelmed with the wrinkles and the wiping and the maintenance. So after a lot of thinking they decided that “high maintenance” was not for them.
So, I ended up back in rescue. This week I overheard a conversation asking if LSBCR could take me? They knew a breed specific rescue was just where I needed to be. Bulldog people love bulldogs and there is no wrinkle too deep for them!
I am 2 years old. I love everyone that I meet. I am potty trained, leash trained and the only thing missing is a family that is all about the bulldogs, especially Me!
10/17/22 Update: Diesel William is an engaging, playful guy who loves toys (he’s always in the toy box), playing fetch with a ball (with some keep away added in) and sucking on a stuffy.
He wants to be the center of your world and household (which he feels would be much better without a crate or barrier separating him).
He is dog-friendly, cat-friendly and adores the kids.
He’s definitely an easy going boy, but overall a bit anxious. Hopefully, that will subside as he gets more used to the routine. Right now, when he’s separated in a crate or behind a gate or window he barks/whines/growls/yodels, etc.
He does love going out to feed the cows!
10/26/22 Update: Diesel William had a great time at Campisi’s yesterday meeting lots of new friends and families! He was a great copilot and a gentleman in the car. Diesel loves playing basketball with his foster-sister and just started to enjoy sunbathing in the mornings outside! However, nothing pleases him more then a basket full of toys to throw around and squeak.
11/1/22 Update: Diesel is an active boy who enjoys playing all the time! He has been having play time with his foster brother Johnny Cash and enjoys playing basketball with his (two-legged) foster sister every night.
11/9/22 Update: Diesel loved going in the car to head his photo shoot. He rode shotgun! He continues enjoying an active lifestyle with daily basketball matches, ball chasing and settling in on the couch with a soft toy. This week, his big fluffy sucky ball somehow exploded, so that was a sad day (thank goodness for Amazon!).
11/14/22 Update: Diesel continues to enjoy playing 1×1 basketball with his foster sister any chance he gets. He is an active boy who loves being in the middle of the household chaos. He knows “sit” and “down” and loves doing tricks for treats! He would love to have an active family who would include him in all their daily fun.
11/21/22 Update: Foster Mom has taken me on some errands and says I am a great co-pilot! I also have enjoyed playing with my foster brother and sister. I especially like stealing their chew bones and taking them up on the couch where they can’t take them! Foster Mom says she needs to order some new squeaky toys because I have worn them all out. Hopefully, she will let me help pick them out!!
11/30/22 Update: Diesel continues to do well in his foster home. His anxiety is pretty much non-existent now that he knows his routine. He loves to play with balls and stuffies, with his favorite activity being fetch (mixed with a bit of keep away). He has also loved playing with his new foster sister Ruby Renea.
12/5/22 Update: I’m still looking for my forever family. Could it be yours? I am an active guy. I love fetch/keep away, basketball, chewy bones and of course, any type of ball you can find! I sometimes jump up, but I’m working on that with my foster family. My foster brother Johnny and foster sister Ruby both found their new families. I’m hoping my turn is soon!
12/13/22 Update: The many faces of Diesel William! Diesel is still looking for an active home where he can be an active part of the family. He loves to play fetch, basketball or with any toys. You name it, he’s game. Diesel would also love to have a job, like learning obedience, rally, tricks, or even agility, as he’s a very smart boy.
12/16/22 Update: Tonight I showed my foster mom a totally different side of myself. Usually I’m busy playing with toys or loving on my ball, but tonight I crawled up into her lap on the couch and laid down on my back so she could scratch my belly and tell me what a good and sweet boy I am. I think she liked seeing this side of me.
12/20/22 Update: Diesel is still a big life-loving goober! He has enjoyed playing with his foster sister Josie this week and playing with a favorite new toy he got from the rescue party! Thank you for your donations.
12/29/22 Update: Diesel William has been busy enjoying lots of new toys! He’s had to share with his foster sister, Josie Grace, as she loves toys too (which he has done begrudgingly at times).
Diesel is completely potty trained, crate trained and loves to work for cookies. He would love an active family who would give him a job and play fetch with him. He just loves to be with his people, whether it’s for car rides, chores or playtime.
