9/12/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Douglas is living the good life now!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7/17/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Douglas to our rescue family! Douglas was the Bulldog his family had always dreamed of. From the moment he joined their home, he was deeply loved and cherished.
At 4 years old, Douglas was happiest soaking up attention, enjoying snacks throughout the day and taking the occasional stroll around the block.
Then life changed in ways no one could have anticipated.
Douglas’s mom was diagnosed with a serious medical condition that required frequent hospital visits, and suddenly her focus shifted to fighting for her own health. As her medical needs grew, Douglas’s skin condition began to worsen. His allergies and yeast infection quickly spiraled out of control, leaving him uncomfortable and in need of medicated baths, medications and consistent care. The familiar yeasty smell became a reminder that he needed more time and attention than his family could provide during such a difficult season.
After many heartfelt conversations and countless prayers, Douglas’s mom made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him to rescue so he could receive the care (and future) he deserved. It was an act of love, knowing that sometimes loving someone means asking for help.
Douglas has lived successfully with a smaller dog and a teenager, and while he’s curious about cats, he has not shown any desire to harm them. He’ll thrive in a home that can keep up with his regular bathing routine, has older children who won’t mind his enthusiastic “Bulldog bowling ball” greetings and, most importantly, has plenty of love to share.
Douglas has already known what it feels like to be loved. Now he’s looking for the family who will help him write his next chapter.
