I’m heading home to Houston today with my new mom, dad and fur brother, Butters! They brought me lots of new toys and I can’t wait to get home and play with them. Thank you to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue and my foster momma, Crossland, for loving me so much and taking such good care of me.
My name is Draco and I have joined rescue!
For the life of me I don’t know why my family decided to take me to the local shelter. After all, I have always been really nice. I heard it was my fur and sometimes the fact I needed regular maintenance. But after all, anything worth having is worth taking care of.
But all and all I think I look and act amazing. I am 3 years old. Dr Larsen screamed when she saw me. She tried to hold me in her lap, but I kept sliding off. I loved it when I got to the clinic and everyone told me I was so handsome. They said they could hardly wait to see me when I get adopted.
I need a little surgery to help me loose that “loving feeling,” but after that I am going to look thru the applications and find myself a fabulous new family.
4/7/23 Update: Draco was too embarrassed to introduce himself because of all the glowing words his foster mom has said about him, so I will introduce him.
Draco has been in our home for a week and he is an absolute joy. Potty trained, knows a basic command or two, loves to play and is absolutely the sweetest boy all around. And handsome? Well, he’s downright swoon-worthy!
After only about a day or two of acclimation, he had found his place in the pack and absolutely loves them.
He hangs out with his foster mom all day, but is so happy when we go outside. He loves to play and would do really well in a house with active dogs and people that will play with him.
He is sad when he is in a crate; it just doesn’t suit this boy. He is out with us all day and night now.
He requires a special, prescription food because he has a propensity to create stones, but he is a good eater and chows down on it. We prepare it with water so that he gets extra hydration to try to keep any stone from forming.
He is a wonderful, wonderful boy and I feel so lucky to be his foster mom.
5/2/23 Update: I continue to amaze my foster mom and dad. I am so sweet and cuddly. I love to eat my special food and I love to love and be loved.
I am such a good walker and I look so adoringly up at my foster mom when we go walking. She loves me.
I have had a few accidents in the house, but never in my crate. We are working on making sure I understand that I must piddle outside. I want so much to please that I’m sure I’ll have that down in no time flat.
Of course, I don’t love being in the crate; I want to be in the middle of the action or just sitting right near you. I love to play, I get along with all the other dogs and I am just a joy overall. And handsome to boot!
5/12/23 Update: According to my foster mom, I am still sweet, still the best and still one amazing pupper.
I love to play and would do great in a home with other dogs who like to play. I like to chew on Benebones. I eat all my special food and am just, in general, a great boy!
My foster parents are now leaving me out at night and I am SO HAPPY! I come greet my foster mom every morning by her bedside and I haven’t had an accident in the house in a week.
I really want a home of my own because I want to shower my family with affection and snuggle with them on the couch.
6/13/23 Update: Hercules Hayden loves being outside when weather permits. He especially enjoys his own poDraco is just as sweet as he is handsome! He’s still the sweetest dog I’ve ever met.
He loves to play, but is also submissive if a dog tells him “no more.”
He loves to be with his people, his pack and seemingly everything in between.
He does have a lot of energy on occasion, so he’d love a ball to chase and people who will take him for short walks.
6/26/23 Update: Are you all tired of me telling you how perfect Draco is?!? I will shout it from the rooftops in order to get this boy the loving home he deserves and craves. Draco is no longer having accidents in the house, is the best walker on a leash ( does not pull!) and snuggles right up next to you and watches true crime with you all night if need be!
