12/18/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster pops: Mr. Dwayne Johnson is now living his best life on a sprawling ranch in Arkansas, with plenty of room for this energetic boy to run, play, and explore!

It was love at first sight when he met his new mom, Cody. She found him instantly adorable, and Dwayne responded with endless wiggles and kisses.

Cody initially set out to adopt a full-blooded Bulldog through a rescue, having owned one before. She’d also previously shared her life with a pit bull she loved dearly. As it turns out, Dwayne Johnson is the perfect blend of both worlds, making him the ideal match for her family and heart. ♥

7/4/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Dwayne Johnson to our rescue family! Not that Dwayne Johnson, but we promise he’s just as unforgettable.

From volunteer Dianne: When we saw the Arlington shelter’s photo of this Bulldog’s sweet, squishy face, we immediately said, “You bet!” What we should’ve asked for was a full-body shot. Because when Rebecca showed up with him, we were all a little surprised. Tail? Check. Long, wagging tail? Check. Very little fur? Also check. And a smell that had Rebecca driving across DFW with the windows down and the A/C on full blast? Yep, that too.

Rebecca’s words said it best: “There’s a Bulldog in there somewhere—he’s thin, patchy, smells terrible, and he needed rescue.”

Despite his rough shape, Dwayne is full of personality and strength. He’s likely never had a family show him love or care, but he’s already soaking up attention like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. His only real patch of fur is between his eyes, and the rest is a mix of scars, thin skin, and signs of past neglect—including infections on the backs of his legs. But his spirit? Fully intact. Sweet, calm, and hopeful.

He’s going to need some time, some vet care, and maybe even a DNA test… HA! He’s definitely 100% resilience. But one thing is for sure: he’s safe now, and rescue looks good on him.

There’s a dog for everyone. Now we just need to find Dwayne Johnson his somebody.

From his foster momma: Sweeter than pecan pie, Dwayne Johnson moved into our foster home and he was THRILLED!

Curious and friendly, he greeted everyone, barked at the birds and thus far, has been non-reactive to the dogs he has met! This boy will lick your face with vigor!!

Does he have a tail?
Yes!
All the better for not having to clean a tail pocket!

Is he a bit of a mix?
Yes!

Does he still deserve all the love a forever family will give him? 100% yes! And he will give you 110% love in return!
