Frank Felix

Frank Felix

12/20/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From volunteer Dianne: It was a hot day in June when Frank Felix joined rescue.

Later that same day, he was picked up by Rebecca for what was meant to be just a weekend stay at her house. As it turns out, that weekend became forever.

Frank Felix moved in for a few days and, by Monday, had completely wormed his way into Rebecca’s heart. Once he was there, he was clearly home.

Frank Felix reminded Rebecca of her beloved Charlie, who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge too soon, leaving her heart broken. Every time I tried to pick Frank Felix up, Rebecca would say, “Oh, leave him here a little longer. He’s doing great here.”

With foster families always being needed, Frank Felix stayed right where he was. And it was only a matter of time before Frank Felix fell in love with Rebecca, and she with him.

Today, Frank Felix looks amazing. His coat feels like satin, and his teeth look as though they’ve just been brushed. I hope Frank Felix’s dad sees this update, because his surrender was one of the hardest we’ve experienced. The comfort is knowing that Frank Felix has known love his entire life, just as every dog should.

From Rebecca, Frank’s foster turned forever mom: Frank Felix was meant to be a temporary guest, but he quickly made himself right at home. From the very beginning, he fit seamlessly into our routine and our hearts. It didn’t take long to realize that he belonged here.

Today, Frank Felix is the man of the house, a sweet, well-mannered gentleman who always lets the girls eat first before heading to his crate to enjoy his own din-dins. “Ladies first” is definitely his philosophy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

6/16/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Frank Felix to our rescue family! From volunteer Dianne: One thing is certain: Frank Felix has always been deeply loved. Yesterday was a heartbreaking morning, as we welcomed him into rescue under difficult circumstances.

Frank Felix’s dad has been a longtime follower of our rescue and a true advocate for senior Bulldogs. A fellow rescuer himself, he’s spent years opening his heart and home to older dogs—believing that if he could give them even just a few wonderful years, it was worth everything.

Never did he imagine he’d one day be surrendering one of his own.

But life changed in unexpected ways. A divorce. A cross-country move. Then a call to serve almost 9,000 miles away. Frank’s dad is an oncologist—a doctor whose passion is helping others. When a hospital in Guam needed his expertise, he answered the call. He went where he was needed most, just as he always has—for both people and Bulldogs.

Frank Felix has spent a lot of time in boarding—not because he wasn’t cared for, but because life got complicated. Still, boarding isn’t the same as home. And while Frank Felix has lived in Southlake and even moved across the country to Arizona, he wants you to know one thing: It’s hot in Arizona!

A few days ago, Frank Felix made the journey back to Texas to join our rescue family. He arrived with his suitcase packed full—his toys, food, treats, personal care items, and one giant comfy bed. He’s 7 years old, already neutered, fully vaccinated, and full of heart.

Frank Felix is glad to be back in Texas, but there’s no doubt he’s missing his dad today. Their bond was strong—and full of love.

Welcome, Frank Felix. You’re safe, you’re home, and you’re already cherished.
