This past weekend, Frank Goodfellow found his family!
Don and Leslie, longtime supporters of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, immediately fell in love with Frank. The adoption day turned into a family event, with their daughter, Leslie—who has previously adopted from Lone Star—and their grandsons joining in the celebration.
Frank is now settling into his new home and is enjoying the life he’s always deserved.
It’s day #1 of vacation and in rolls the text: “Hi, this is Zan. There’s a Bulldog living at the circus RV park, a known dumping ground for dogs. I saw him yesterday when I was there rescuing 17 puppies and two moms. Puppies are four weeks and two weeks. The Bulldog is in bad shape. He’s been there for three months. The Bulldog lives under different RVs and gets beat up a lot.”
Hmmm…. Is this a joke? A circus RV park?
No, no joke.
The owner of the RV park also owns a circus and the circus people live there. It’s also where carnival rides go to die. It’s quite a sight! It’s not fenced and people dump dogs there all the time. Thankfully, the Bulldog survived on scraps given to him by the circus people.
In the meantime, our friend Frank is also calling me because he knows Zan. All I know is that I am NOT going to the clown RV park in South Dallas ~ but Frank will!
Frank made a U-turn as he was headed to the Mavs playoff game and look what he came back with: A circus Bulldog we named Frank Goodfellow.
Frank has some battle scars from a run in with a heeler over some scraps and his ear are dripping with infection.
Many thanks to Brandyn and Ursella who met Mr. Frank and took Bulldog Frank to get a much-needed bath.
By the grace of God, Frank the circus Bulldog did not die in this heat, get run over or get attacked and killed. He is a small fella, but such a sweet one.
Welcome to the great life, Frank Goodfellow. You are going to love it here! And in case you forgot, it really does take a village to save these dogs.
7/25/24 Update: I’m settling into my foster home and my foster mom says that I am perfect! I’m about 4 years old and weigh about 50 lbs. I love snuggles, hugs and fluffy toys. I get along with everyone and even try to play with the resident dogs. I am looking for a home to call my own and a family all to myself.
8/2/24 Update: Are you looking for a four-legged friend to help with laundry?
Or do you need a kitchen food taste tester?
Or maybe just someone to gaze lovingly into your eyes?
Well, look no further than ME, Frank Goodfellow, because I am your guy!
8/14/24 Update: I’m a charming dude who’s been thriving in my foster home. I’m getting the hang of toys and good manners, and my foster mom says I’m house trained and a total sweetheart. She constantly tells me how handsome I am and believes any family would be lucky to have a lovable guy like me. I’m estimated to be about 4 years old so I have a lot of life to live. If you’re looking for a compact companion with a big heart, I may be your guy!
