At some point in time, we all say or believe that things happen for a reason. And I believe this adoption is one of those instances.
The Edge family met Gasper James at our Bulldog Bonanza at Bar 2909 and they instantly fell in love with him! They were also falling in love with Sugarplum Figgy. By the end of the day, their decision to adopt one turned into two!
Unfortunately, as you know, Sugarplum Figgy had another place to be ~ she unexpectedly passed away prior to her adoption.
The Edge family decided they still wanted to open their hearts to two dogs when the time was right. In walked, Letty Mae.
Gasper James and Letty Mae are great friends and play well together! Or at least she tolerates his over abundance of puppy-ness!
Letty Mae struggled a bit after Sugarplum Figgy’s passing and regressed with some potty habits. She just didn’t seem happy in her new home, so in her best interest, she came back to Mays’ Manor.
I reached out to the Edge family and mentioned Letty Mae’s return and we talked about what could be going on with her. They decided they would make both Gasper James and Letty Mae part of their family.
Gasper James is now known as Buzz and Letty Mae is Lenny! Buzz and Lenny will have they best life and will remain friends for life.
I celebrated my first birthday on March, so really, I am just an oversized puppy.
I have a lot of energy, but I know a few commands already, like sit. Not sit and stay. Just sit. And sometimes I will shake. I will shake, if I want to. I don’t always want to.
My family didn’t have time for me any longer, so they opted to give me to rescue. It was a mutual agreement because I really didn’t want to spend so much time in a crate, and living in an apartment was not the life I had envisioned. I want a big yard, lots of toys and someone to play ball with me.
I may need a course in manners. I get excited when I meet people and I can jump really high. I love kids, but because of my energy level, I probably would do best in a family with older kids. My perfect family will take me on walks, help me calm down and love me forever.
I am going to Dr. Larsen soon to sit in her lap and tell her all about me. Dr. Larsen will love me. She’ll probably squeal with delight!
5/1/24 Update: Gasper James is all puppy and is all about playing! During his first week, he struggled because no one wanted to play with him, but he is slowly winning over the girls in the house.
5/9/24 Update: Gasper James is not happy about getting a double eye lift and wearing a cone but he should feel so much better once he heals.
