Gordon James

Gordon James

Today was my day! I loved my foster family and they absolutely loved me, but I know my new family will also adore me. After all, I’m the man! I can’t wait to start this new phase of my life in Houston.

I hope everyone knows how much I appreciate everything you’ve done for me. I’ll send updates from my new kingdom! Thanks so much.   Love, Gordon

I joined rescue because my family became overwhelmed with five kids and life, plain and simply.

I decided I was ready to go because we were in an apartment and every day, it was getting smaller and smaller and smaller. My family loved me, but sometimes, love is not enough because I can hardly breathe.

That’s right~ I need palate surgery. Just walking across the room makes me huff and puff. And trust me, in this heat I would die if I went out for a length of time.

My family contacted rescue and the rest is history. I’m going to get all the medical care I need, so I’ll finally be able to breathe normally. And then I’ll be able to be matched to a fabulous furever family.

8/3/23 Update:  Gordon had his palate surgery with Dr. Lay, so he’s on canned food at the moment. To ensure he doesn’t get too hot, he’s being walked carefully on a leash for the next couple weeks. We’ll slowly scale back and give him more freedom after that. He’s a very sweet boy!

8/31/23 Update:  Gordon James is the best pup! He has been in his foster home for two weeks and is doing very well. He is about 2 years old. He enjoys being around people and seems to love kids. He is working on basic obedience, and is very sweet and well-mannered.

Gordon enjoys playing with toys and getting treats, but his favorite activity is BATH TIME! He loves the water and literally runs into the shower or jumps in the tub when it’s time for his twice-weekly medicated baths. I think he considers it his “Spa Day.” LOL!

9/12/23 Update:  Gordon James is a playful, young guy who would love a family of his own. He enjoys being outside and loves being around people. He is very social and happy! Gordon is working on house training, but is very close to mastering this skill. He enjoys toys, playing fetch and playing in the sprinklers in the backyard.  Happy Sunday, y’all!

12/19/23 Update:  I just wanted to give you an update on how things are going in my foster home. Life is good!

My foster mom says that I am the most playful, lovable guy. My favorite thing to do is play with my toys and play with my humans. Tug o’ war, wrestling, fetch.you name it.

I am a big strong Bulldog, but I’m still pretty gentle and sweet. I am smart and follow commands. Sometimes, I’m a little stubborn. maybe that’s the Bulldog in me! Either way, I think Santa is going to bring me some treats and toys because I’ve been a very good Bulldog this year.
