I’ve got some thrilling news—I’m officially out of here and into my next home! That’s right, on Monday, I found my new family, and they’re absolutely wonderful. My new mom says she sees me as perfect just the way I am, quirks and all.
It truly feels like a dream come true. I was a bit anxious, wondering if anyone would want to adopt me, given my unique personality. After all, I am on the petite side, and I have a few habits that might seem a bit unconventional. For example, anything plugged in is fair game for me. Phone chargers are my absolute favorite—I can dash through the house, dragging the charger and phone behind me, and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out why lamps even exist. They’re just begging to be unplugged!
And let’s not forget my fascination with trash. To me, every trash can is an opportunity. I give them a good headbutt to knock them over, and then I dive into the treasure hunt. Coffee grinds are my absolute favorite, and I love spreading them around. Paper? Oh, that’s my specialty. I can turn a simple envelope into hundreds of tiny pieces—talk about shredding skills!
My new mom works from home, and now I get to be her personal assistant. That’s right, I’m here to help with whatever she needs, whether it’s keeping her company or managing office supplies (mostly by inspecting and redistributing them).
And here’s the best part—I have two new fur siblings, Xena and Phaedra! Both are also from Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue. Phaedra is a bit larger, so we’ll be working on a fun weight loss plan together. It’s going to be a game of “catch me if you can” as I sprint off with her treats!
I’m so excited about my new life and all the adventures that await. Thanks for all the love and support—I couldn’t have made it here without you!
Bulldog friends my name is Grumpy Kat and I have joined rescue.
I took a stroll around town and ended up in the local animal shelter. I didn’t make any friends at the shelter. They kept snickering “that’s a face only a mother could love!” Now who says that? This is the only face I have ever known! If they were not talking about my face they were talking about my size. I can’t help it that I’m small. Being small did not stop me from having babies. From the looks of my body, I have had a few litters of babies. I weighted myself and today and I weighted 24 lbs.
Since leaving the shelter I have really started to love eating. This morning, I had some banana with peanut butter as a snack. Ms. Jennifer, who picked me up, brought me a new bed, several bags of treats, and some bags of dog food. Guess what else she brought me? Some kind of thing that rolls around and you fill it with kibble, and I am supposed to work on getting the kibble out! What kind of game is that? Does this look like a face that likes to play games?
Well, that’s all for now from Grumpy Kat, but before you know it, I will be ready for a new family. Love always, Grumpy Kat.
6/14/24 Update: Oh, she does look grumpy, but let me tell you, she’s the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet!
I picked her up from the shelter and have spent some time with her. She will snuggle that 24 lb. body right into your lap and never leave. She just wants her belly rubbed. She does play with that little kibble ball and has mastered getting the food out of it. Her favorite toy is a little lamb.
I just wanted you to know all this because looks can be deceiving!
So glad to have rescued her.
6/21/24 Update: Hey friends~ it’s me, Grumpy Kat on safari! That’s right, I’m in South Africa. I picked up a hitchhiker in the desert and believe it or not, her name is Grumpy Cat!
Well, I really didn’t pick her up. She jumped on the back of my elephant, Jumbo, and refused to get off. It was a fight to the finish, as she thought she was riding shotgun. I knew it was my elephant and there was no way she was sitting in the front.
We stopped in Shangana Village for some sightseeing and while I was taking a traditional dance class, Grumpy Cat had a blanket made with her initials to put on MY elephant! I can tell you right now: I should have never let her up on Jumbo. She has been a problem ever since!
But I’m super excited to have a blanket to sit on because when Jumbo starts to sweat, I slide right off. It’s a long way down and Jumbo keeps on walking, and makes me run to get back on.
Stay tuned for more of my adventures. I am headed to the circus next week!
