Harvey came into rescue after a woman answered an ad on Craigslist and once she saw him in such poor condition she just could not leave him behind. She saved his life that day. The woman tried her best to help him, but knew that rescue would have the resources to handle all of his needs. Harvey is estimated to be a young 2 year old and approximately 70 pounds (although at the time he is considered under weight for his body size and structure as you can see his ribs and backbone). He is a big boy, but is truly a gentle giant. There are none sweeter than sir Harvey.
Harvey is currently being treated for a skin condition caused by neglect and flea infestation. He is also heartworm positive. Once his skin issues are under control he will undergo heartworm treatment. Harvey will be available for adoption sometime in early to mid April.
Harvey gets along great with other dogs and so far has shown no interest in cats. He isn’t feeling 100% at the moment, but you can see glimpses of his youth at times. He wants to play with the other dogs and chase balls, but he just doesn’t have the stamina yet. Harvey knows some commands and is currently working on mastering potty training. Harvey will make some family very happy. All he wants is to be loved . . . oh and food. This boy can eat! I would say right now food is his favorite thing, with Nylabones being a close second.
Harvey will be neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and be on Heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $500 .
