Hopscotch

I’m here with some good news…. I am officially adopted!

Foster Mom let me know that I did not need to pack my things again, as I was staying right where I am.

Foster Mom believed it was a sign. After coming back to rescue six years following my first adoption, I was diagnosed with kidney disease. That must have been why I came “home.”

Thanks and love to Dr. Larsen, Bright Star Vet Clinic and all in Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for taking care of me.  Love, Hoppy

Hoppy here and still confused on what has happened to me!  Tomorrow would have been the day I was going to celebrate my 6th Gotcha Day with my family. But then on Wednesday my foster mom showed up at my house and the next thing I knew I was loaded up with all of my things and saying goodbye to my dad.  He was really sad and really loved me, but things called “allergies” caused the tough decision. He told foster mom “ She’s a great dog and deserves a family who’ll love her & give her everything she needs”. My dad cared & loved me so much, he was willing to have a broken heart so I could find a furever family.

I had recently lost my best buddy “Toby” and I have been very sad, so I am ready for a change in my life, new fur friends and a furever family!

I will go see Dr Larsen next week and I can’t wait to sit in her lap and get a big hug!  I love hugs.

Hopscotch has been adopted! She writes: Hoppy here…Just wanted to let everyone know that I met my furever family today! They drove from Houston to meet me and were so excited to make me part of their family. I have a new mom, dad, brother and sister and I also have a new fur-brother, Toby, who is a Schnauzer. I know that there will be lots of new adventures for all of us and I will forever be loved. I wanted to share the picture of all of us and my “coming home” video. Thank you, Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, for finding me my perfect home.

Please welcome Hopscotch to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue! Originally saved from a puppy mill, this owner surrender will turn 1 year old on Feb. 5. Stay tuned for more details on her!

3/21/23 Update:  So last week I got to meet Dr. Larsen and sit in her lap and also Logan‘s lap and in foster mom’s lap. I got the full work up with shots and all, and in one of my pictures you can see Logan holding me, I thought he was just hugging me, but this was so Doc could poke me with the needle! Ouch!  It hurt so bad I was stomping on Logan‘s foot. After that I got lots of hugs and kisses, so it was worth it.

Well here is my health report.

Both of my ears are infected, I have a staff infection that’s causing my skin irritation, and I have a few little lumps that need to be removed, oh, I also have bad teeth. I scheduled to have some work done, but we have to postpone it.  My bloodwork results came back and we found out that I am in kidney failure. I’m not sure what that means but Dr. Larsen and foster mom said they are going to work on getting me better. I have special food now and some other medicine to take, and I’m getting fluids twice a week. I do not like the “fluid” part, because it involves a needle.

Other than that I’m a happy girl and I’ve been playing with my foster brother, Marco and eating and drinking fine. So we’re going to recheck my bloodwork in a few months and hopefully I’ll be better.

Foster mom was talking to me and said “maybe this is why I came back home

4/11/23 Update:  I had a good week, just hanging out and sometimes babysitting on the side. *Sigh* Kids these days.

3/2/24 Update:  My birthday was on Saturday ~ I’m now 8 years old! I celebrated with a special burger for dinner!  Other than that I really haven’t been up to much of anything. I just sleep, eat, get lots of treats and sleep some more.

I visited Dr. Larsen this week with alumna Pearl. We were both due for our yearly stuff. Doc drained some of my blood for testing, and I didn’t like that part.

I have some bad teeth, which we talked about taking out. But Doc found I have a heart murmur, so, no-go on the removal. I will take some antibiotics for my teeth and bladder infection and hopefully, I will start to feel better.

Best part was after our visit…. We got to eat some chicken nuggies and fries from Chick-fil-A.
