This weekend has been nothing short of a whirlwind for Jackson Morgan. After saying goodbye to his friends at the vet clinic, he spent a delightful few days indulging in ice cream and scary movies.
Today brought even more excitement. He enjoyed another car ride and met two wonderful people who asked if he’d like to join their family. Without a moment’s hesitation, he eagerly hopped into their car, ready to start his new adventure.
Jackson Morgan is now known as Winston, and he’s hit the jackpot with his new family who are no strangers to rescue. They’re ready to shower Winston with all the love and pampering he could ever dream of.
Bulldog people my life has not been that great. A year ago, my family asked a friend to watch me while they “got on their feet” for a month or so. That was ok. Where I was going to be staying was a house with a big yard. But my new family was a super sweet lady that was a nurse, and she was gone more than she was home. I was home alone a lot. I mean crated for 12-14 hours while she worked. She told me all the time to be patient, she was doing the best she could, and my family was coming back for me.
Well one month turned into one year and still my family was nowhere in sight! Finally, a line was drawn in the sand, and it was “come get your bulldog!” Guess what, my family didn’t want me back! That’s right I been sitting waiting for a year for nothing. All this time I could have been with a family that had time for me and that loved me.
I am so excited to join rescue. And I will be the first to tell you that I have a lot to learn. Some may call me “a wild child!” But I am just so happy to be out of a crate I can’t stop running and jumping. I am going to need a lesson in Manners 101 so I can be the best-behaved bulldog there is.
But today, I am free to run and play and that is just fine with me! I am 3 years old, and my name is Jackson Morgan.
2/2/24 Update: We learned today that our new boy, Jackson Morgan, is heartworm positive. UGHHHHH. Like he’s not already facing enough issues….
Plus, after his treatment, he’ll need to be confined again ~ just when we got him OUT of living in a crate. He’ll have to be on activity restriction for 30 days.
6/7/24 Update: He’s a sweetie pie, loves kids and prefers to be the only dog. He would do great in an active home where he can run and play. He also minds very well.
