10/6/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! Back in April, Jellyroll joined Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue after he was picked up wandering in the Texas heat. He didn’t mind the ride to the shelter, especially with that glorious A/C blowing in his face, but he never expected that no one would come looking for him.
With his good looks and easygoing personality, Jellyroll quickly became a shelter favorite. The staff and volunteers adored him, and he happily soaked up all the attention. But underneath that easygoing exterior was a Bulldog who was still waiting for someone to call his own.
Then came rescue day.
Jellyroll left the shelter with hugs, well wishes and a whole bunch of people hoping that the next time they saw him, he’d be living his best life.
Mission accomplished. ❤️
Jellyroll has changed his name to Jelly, and according to his foster momma, he is now on a first-name basis with Chip and Joanna because he’s living in Waco with his marvelous new family. 😂
And Jelly has hit the Bulldog jackpot.
His dad works in a dog-friendly office, while his mom works mostly from home. So Jelly gets plenty of quality time with his people and, most importantly, they all adored each other from the get-go.
The approximately 3-year-old, 65-pound shelter favorite who once found himself wandering the streets in the heat now has exactly what he was waiting for: his people, his home and his happy ending.
From Jellyroll to Jelly, from shelter dog to Waco resident… this is one sweet upgrade.
Congratulations, Jelly! We couldn’t be happier that your next chapter turned out to be everything we hoped it would be.

4/8/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Jellyroll to our rescue family. Jellyroll found himself at a local shelter after being picked up wandering in the heat one day. He didn’t mind the ride there (especially with the A/C blowing in his face), but what he didn’t expect was that no one would come looking for him.
With his good looks and easygoing personality, Jellyroll quickly became a shelter favorite. He soaked up the love from staff and volunteers, but deep down, he was still waiting for a family to call his own.
When Monday came, his rescue day felt a little bittersweet. He had made friends and felt safe, but he was more than ready to start the next chapter of his life. As he hopped into the rescue wagon, he left behind a group of people who adored him. They sent him off with hugs, well wishes and hopes of seeing him in his next home soon.
Jellyroll is about 3 years old and 65 pounds of pure love. Now all he needs is a family to give him the happy ending he’s been waiting for.

Jellyroll got his second chance, but so many others are still waiting. We need more volunteers and foster families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to say “yes” to more dogs in need. Message us to learn how to foster!
8/16/26 UPDATE ~ Foster Momma says Jellyroll is a very, very sweet boy, and we’re learning more about this handsome guy every day!
Jellyroll is doing great with pottying outside, although he’s not particularly interested in spending much time in the yard. He doesn’t seem to need much direction on a leash and is completely unfazed by the chickens, turkeys and guinea fowl. Apparently, farm life doesn’t impress him much!
He also seems to have a little Bulldog sense of humor. His foster family’s Great Pyrenees mix has been less than impressed with him, but Jellyroll has been wonderfully patient.
Jellyroll has had a couple of humping episodes, but when Foster Mom corrected him, he simply blinked at her as if waiting to see what would happen next. Thankfully, that was the only time she saw any sign that he was worried or fearful.
And one thing is certain: Jellyroll LOVES a nice, cool concrete floor. Give him a belly on the floor and he is one happy boy! 😂
Sweet, easygoing and apparently equipped with a pretty good sense of humor…Jellyroll is settling in beautifully.
9/7/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Jellyroll is a total jewel! He loves to ride, loves his chew toys and most of all, he loves being with his people. He’s mellow, laid-back and just happy to be part of the action.
Jellyroll recently visited the Greenville Farmers Market and he was a big hit! He loves shopping and visiting with people, especially when we go early before the heat sets in. He’s quite the little social butterfly!
He’s doing well with the resident dogs, although Evie is still being a bit of a sourpuss. 😂 Any mischief happening around here is definitely not Jellyroll’s fault. He’s far too easygoing for that.
Jellyroll came this close to having a new home, but then the family had a change of heart. 💔 While it was disappointing, Jellyroll isn’t letting it slow him down. He’s still living his best life, enjoying rides, outings, chew toys and plenty of time with his people.
For now, we’re incredibly grateful to be his guardians and to give this sweet boy the love and happiness he deserves.
Jellyroll is ready for a family whenever the right one comes along. Until then, he’ll keep enjoying every minute of life, and we’ll keep spoiling him.
