3/30/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: From scared and fragile to confident and full of love… what a journey this sweet girl has had.

Jolene Ginger came to us skinny, frightened and with a healing broken jaw. But with patience, love and the comfort of her Bulldog buddies, she slowly began to trust again. Day by day, she discovered how to play, how to feel safe… and how to just be a dog. And let us tell you: she is absolutely perfect in every way.

We fell hard (as everyone does with Jolene Ginger) and truly struggled with the idea of letting her go. Becoming a “foster fail” was tempting, but our hearts reminded us why they foster: to help the next Bulldog in need. That kind of love is what rescue is all about. 🐾

Then came the perfect match.

Her new family knows the depth of love a Bulldog brings. They had previously adopted a sweet pup who, heartbreakingly, had a terminal illness. They gave her the most beautiful life until the very end, and when she passed, they knew one day their hearts would open again.

And that day came with Jolene Ginger.

The meet-and-greet couldn’t have been more perfect. She went for a walk like a pro, showed off her sweet personality and sealed the deal with her signature barrel roll for belly rubs. Just like that… it was meant to be.

She hopped right into the back seat and is now on her way to a life of total spoilage… exactly what she deserves.

Happy tails, sweet Jolene Ginger. Your story is just beginning, and it’s going to be amazing.

1/17/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Jolene Ginger to our rescue family!

Meet Jolene Ginger, a little Bulldog with a name as big as her soul. She was found wandering Weatherford, Texas, as a stray, alone and weather-worn, and brought to the local animal shelter. Even when the shelter doors were closed, our volunteer Jeff from foster home “A5” heard her quiet call and stepped up… because rescue doesn’t check the clock.

Jolene Ginger came straight to A5, where she met a new sister, her Bulldog brothers, the A5 cats… and didn’t bat an eye. Nothing rattles this girl. She settled in like she’s always belonged.

From the moment she arrived, she stole Jeff’s heart, and honestly, none of us are surprised.

Her story tells us she’s been through more than her fair share. She was picked up as a stray, carrying a broken jaw that somehow doesn’t slow her down or dim her joy. She eats, she loves, she lives fully. Strong like a country song, soft like a lullaby.

1/21/26 UDPATE ~ From the foster momma: Jolene Ginger is truly the sweetest girl. Her only goal seems to be making everyone around her happy. If she senses even the slightest bit of tension, she’ll quietly retreat to her kennel, preferring peace over conflict.

She’s a very sensitive soul, and while we can’t know her full past, it’s possible she experienced some rough moments before rescue. Even so, Jolene Ginger remains incredibly trusting and genuinely eager to please. She meets the world with a gentle heart.

Jolene Ginger is also wonderful with cats, making her a lovely fit for a calm, patient home that will cherish her sweet nature.

1/24/26 UPDATE ~ From he foster momma: Miss Jolene Ginger has officially been in our foster home, A5 Ranch, for one week, and y’all… she is pure gold. 💛

She is the sweetest soul. So respectful, gentle and clearly just wants to please. She’s really starting to fill out nicely now, and that bony little backbone we first noticed is gone (thank goodness). Instead, she’s sporting a much healthier look and a whole lot more confidence.

Her favorite pastime? Rolling right over for belly rubs. I check her daily for a “mean bone” (you know, just in case 😉), and all we can say is: this girl does not have one. Not a single mean bone anywhere in that precious body.

Jolene Ginger clearly had a rough start in life. She came to us with a broken jaw, but don’t let that fool you. It doesn’t slow her down one bit. She eats, plays and loves like a champ. She adores the dogs, is completely unbothered by the cats and while she’s very curious about the chickens… we think she might prefer to play just a little too rough with them. 😄

Jolene Ginger is everything we love about this breed: resilient, loving, goofy and endlessly grateful. Watching her blossom this week has been such a joy, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for this special girl.
