Josie Grace

Josie Grace

This morning, I took Josie Grace into my arms and told her she was worth her weight in gold. I told her that this was the last time she’d ever have to move as she was going to her forever home!

And what a great home it is….

Josie Grace will be joining Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue alumnus Mack at Gail and Paulino’s house. This couple has adopted 11 rescue dogs in their many years as Bulldoggers!

Josie fit right in with her new family and is already giving lots of kisses and snuggles. She also already found herself a mud puddle and had a bath!

Wishing nothing but love for this sweet girl’s future. They don’t come much sweeter or loving than Josie Grace!

Josie here—and all I needed was a hero. I needed someone to see my worth, someone who would not give me away “one more time.”

It all happened a while back when I had puppies. And every one of them died. All I know is they were alive when they were born.  So, I am thinking it was the people that I belonged to that should not have been having bulldog babies. Well, that is neither here nor there , but I was re-homed to someone else.

That’s where it gets foggy.  Before I settled in, I was given away again. And then one more time. Finally, the right person came along that knew they could not keep me but believed I did have worth and that I would be valuable to someone for something other than for making babies. The sad thing is, I don’t even know the man’s name who saved me. All I know is he has a bulldog.  He said I was beautiful and shame on the people that only wanted to use me.

Today I joined rescue. And those days of me being passed around are over.  In the coming weeks I will be sitting with Dr. Larsen and telling her all about my past life and Dr. Larsen will be telling me about my future. And my future will be a fabulous one, just wait and see!

12/13/22 Update:  Josie is still taking it easy after her eye surgery and spay. She loves to lay in your lap and be loved on. She also loves playing with toys or just relaxing enjoying a good chew.

12/16/22 Update:  With her jumbled past behind her, Josie Grace is now focused on her bright future!

She’s looking forward to moving in with a family who will love her forever, in a home that she can call her own…. forever. She deserves that.

Special thanks to our friend Sheila for capturing Josie Grace’s beauty in these photos. We’re sure she felt like a supermodel in front of the lens. Let your beauty shine, girl!

12/20/22 Update:  Life is never dull with sweet Josie Grace! A big puppy at heart she loves to be where her foster mom is… perched up on the chair or in her lap. Beware when Josie is being too quiet though. She might be up to something naughty….

12/29/22 Update:  Josie Grace has been loving toys this week! After she got het spay and eye sutures out, she has been right in the middle of the chaos, loving everyone and playing. She especially loves climbing up on the couch and getting loves from her foster dad. Josie is a good listener and is a pleaser, but at the end of the day, she’d love to just crawl into your lap to be loved on.

1/10/23 Update:   Josie Grace is doing great in her foster home. She loves playing with all the toys and occasionally her new foster sister! Her skin is looking great with a beautiful silky coat emerging!

She loves getting snuggles from her foster parents and even loves and plays nice with her young two-legged foster siblings.

Josie wishes that the cat would allow her get a much closer look at him, but we aren’t sure if she will like what she sees. She would probably do better without a cat.

Josie also enjoys her weekly baths and just melts into the tub.

1/19/23 Update:  Josie Grace is doing great in her foster home! She loves playing with her new foster sister Shiloh Rose and continues to enjoy her spa days! Josie would do best in a home without cats. She fixates on them and would spend all day waiting for them to emerge from their hiding places (even though she doesn’t want to hurt them). Josie sees the ophthalmologist this week to have her eyes checked out!

1/25/23 Update:  I went to the ophthalmologist this week and sat real still while they poked and prodded my eyes. The doctor was really gentle and told Foster Mom that I don’t see really well because my eyes had been neglected for so long. But he came up with a good plan to try to help me get some vision back. Foster Mom has been giving me medicine and putting lots of stuff in my eyes all day long.

It helps! I still love to play and be silly though.

2/3/23 Update:  Josie Grace has been doing great! She is a champ about getting in her eye drops multiple times a day. She’s been loving the icy weather outside and playing with her foster siblings! She is such a sweet girl!
