Happy tails for Kairo and Layla Clapton!
Yesterday marked the start of a beautiful new chapter for Kairo and Layla Clapton. They found their home in Austin with the wonderful Kelsie!
Kelsie lost her beloved Bulldog, Ellie Mae, exactly one year ago yesterday, so it was a day that holds special meaning. Last weekend, Kelsie made the trip to Fort Worth to meet Kairo. After spending time with her, she knew she needed a friend—and that’s when sweet Layla Clapton entered the picture!
These two Bulldogs have truly hit the jackpot with their new mom. Kelsie’s heart and home are full of love, and we couldn’t be happier for this perfect match.
Wishing Kairo, Layla Clapton and Kelsie a lifetime of love and happiness together!
A beautiful touch: Kelsie’s sweatshirt features a picture of Ellie Mae. I love that she was part of the adoption too.
It was a heartbreaking day for both me and my mom. She cried so hard, and I kept looking back as I walked away from the only home I’d ever known. I can’t fully express how sad it made me to see her tears, knowing that her decision was breaking her heart.
Not long ago, my mom had to take on a second job to make ends meet, and it meant I spent many long hours alone. Being alone was really tough for me.
My mom wants me to find a family who has more time for me because I love to play! I’m 6 years old and very active. I enjoy walks when the weather is nice, and I want to be part of everything going on around me. I may be small for a Bulldog, but I’m the perfect size for cuddling on your lap.
I need a little surgery to prevent me from having puppies, and I’ve got an infection on my feet that needs to be treated, but soon I’ll be ready to go home for the holidays.
Could that home be yours?
1/30/25 Update: We picked up Kairo last week. She was a bit nervous at first, but is starting to settle in and feel more comfortable.
Kairo loves playing with toys and going on little walks! She does get a little jealous if you give attention to other animals while she’s in the room—she definitely likes to be the center of attention!
She’s a bit sensitive about her toes, but we’re working on getting her more comfortable with touch, especially when it comes to her legs and paws.
For now, Kairo would probably thrive best in a home without other dogs, and she might do well with older children who can respect her space and boundaries.
This sweet, beautiful gal is ready to find her family, and she’s excited to meet the lucky ones who will give her the love she deserves!
