Kevin Tully (now Gus)

Kevin Tully (now Gus)

12/27/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: The sensational Kevin Tully had his Christmas wish come true when, the weekend before Christmas, he was swept off his feet by his new family.

They loved Kevin so much that they made a full-day drive from Missouri to bring him home, and if they were smitten before they met him, it was love at first sight in person. The feeling was clearly mutual. Kevin went straight to them, happily soaking up all the love and cuddles from his new family.

Now known as Gus, he has settled into his new home like the champ he is, learning his new surroundings and loving every moment of his new life.

A heartfelt thank you to volunteers Lari and Dianne for guiding me through this first foster dog and adoption journey, and to Rey and Tayler for giving the thumbs up after the home visit.

We wish Gus a lifetime filled with love, comfort and happiness, cherished in the way he has always deserved. Here’s to many wonderful adventures ahead for this gorgeous, sweet soul who has been given a beautiful second chance at happiness.

10/10/25 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Kevin Tully to our rescue family! This 2-year-old Bulldog has a heart full of love and a fresh start on the horizon.

Kevin Tully’s world turned upside down when his dad passed away. Sadly, no one in the family was willing to take him in, so he was surrendered to a local shelter. But Kevin Tully’s story took a hopeful turn. Before he even spent a night in the shelter, the staff reached out to us, knowing he deserved better.

Within hours, Kevin Tully was riding shotgun with our volunteer Tina, headed toward a new beginning with Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.

Now, Kevin Tully just needs to catch up on a few vet appointments (including a little “snip snip”) before he’ll be ready to find a family who’s ready for his youthful energy and sweet personality. This boy is playful, resilient and so deserving of a second chance.

12/15/25 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Last week was a tough one for Kevin Tully. He began scratching intensely under his neck, leaving the area raw and very sore. Thankfully, after a course of steroids, antibiotics and antihistamines, his skin has calmed down, and in just a few short days, he’s healed remarkably well.

Best of all, he’s got his little swagger back and is sleeping again (thank goodness!). One night last weekend, I spent an entire Hallmark Christmas movie holding his chin so he could snooze without putting pressure on his sore spots. For the record, he has a very heavy head. 😆I did try to encourage side sleeping, but Kevin Tully was absolutely not on board with that plan!

Now that he’s feeling better, his personality is shining as brightly as ever.

A reminder of Kevin Tully’s wonderful traits:

• A truly sweet boy ~ there isn’t a bad bone in his chunky body

• Non-reactive, aside from a very manly bark when the doorbell rings

• Calm, relaxed (and yes… a little lazy!) for most of the day

• Absolutely loves a good walk and becomes super spritely on our outings

• Walks off-lead right by my side (very trustworthy)

• A big softie who thrives on constant attention; best suited for a home with a stay-at-home family member or work-from-home parents

• Excellent with kids (I have three, and they are completely under his spell)

• Friendly with my resident dog (though blissfully unaware that the feeling isn’t mutual)

• Had a habit of peeing in his bed for about a month, but hasn’t done so the last two nights—progress! (I still wash his bedding daily out of habit 😆). Otherwise, he is fully toilet trained

• Great in the car

• Tolerates showers like a champ

In a nutshell, Kevin Tully is pretty much perfect and will thrive in a family home or with devoted adult adopters who are ready to return all the love he so generously gives.
