I got adopted!
Although they opted not to be in my adoption day pics, I now have a mom and dad who’ve had tons of Bulldogs throughout the years. I also now have a fur brother about my age to play with.
My new mom took me to get me a tag for my collar and my favorite treats. I also got to sleep in my parents’ bed. They even made me eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast. I like being treated like the king that I am.
Thank you to everyone in rescue for helping me find this family and getting me all the surgeries I needed.
My name is King Louie and yesterday I joined rescue. I am only 8 months old.
As you can see my eyes are really bad. But I will see Dr Larsen later this week and I know she will have a plan to get me all fixed up.
A few things about me. I am super handsome, I like car rides, toys and treats. I do great on a leash, but I’m not a fan of a harness. When you put a harness on me I become frozen and won’t move. I am great with other dogs, I do the best wiggle dance when I get excited. I love belly rubs and I am very chill for a puppy.
That’s about it for now. I’ll check in again after I see Doc.
7-11-23 Update: I left the vet clinic after several surgeries on my eyes and now I’m back in my foster home.
I really like it here. I have so many fur friends to play with and tons of room to explore outside.
Foster Mom and Dad say I’m an excellent house guest, especially for being so young. I am very laid back for only being 11 months old. I play well, share toys and my food. I potty well outside and always come when I’m called.
Once the swelling in my eyes goes down, I will be ready for my forever family!
8/3/23 Update: I just wanted to share a few things I’ve learned I like over the past few weeks.
I like to play and swim. And I am really good at sharing my toys. I prefer toys that squeak, bones or rope toys. I don’t really have an interest in balls.
I also sit really well for treats Sometimes I do well taking them and sometimes not. But we are working on that.
I’ve also learned that I like peanut butter, cheeseburgers and fries. Things I don’t like are blackberries and bananas.
I would really like to have a furever family with other dogs. While I am very chill for being 11 months old, I do love to play when not napping. I know there is a perfect family out there looking for a cool guy like me!
8/18/23 Update: Just wanted to let everyone know I am still surviving this heat by swimming daily. My foster sister and I actually swim several times a day. It’s become my favorite thing.
Also, I learned that I really like scrambled eggs with cottage cheese. Foster Mom says they are a treat we only get on the weekends. But man, they are so good! I also like sweet potatoes and goat milk.
My eyes are healing nicely, but I will require daily drops, which I don’t mind. I’m ready to be adopted so please get in your applications. I need to find the right family for me!
8/22/23 Update: Louie checking in and letting everyone know, I am over here living my best life. FM was watering the yard this morning and I found the only spot with standing water and turned into a hippo. FM says she never seen a bulldog love water as much as me. Now I have to get a bath, but that’s ok. I will be nice and clean for our event on Saturday. I hope to meet my new family there.
