3/31/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: I’m so proud to share that Kit Kat has found her home with a loving family just outside of Houston, Texas!
I had a feeling the moment I shared her last update that her perfect family was out there… and sure enough, within minutes, one of our adoption coordinators reached out. One of those “I hate it when I’m right” moments, but really, how could anyone not fall in love with her? 🥰
Kit Kat is now living her best life, complete with a lifetime supply of soccer balls to deflate (and we know there will be many 😂). She’ll have the freedom to roam, but we know she’ll be right by her family’s side 24/7, with zero regard for personal space… ever!
Her meet-and-greet couldn’t have gone more perfectly. This truly is the most loving, ideal match for her. Huge shoutout to our amazing adoption coordinators for making it happen! 👏
Watching this next chapter unfold for Miss Kit Kat is the best kind of reward. Knowing her new family already loved her before even meeting her in person just makes it that much more special.

11/18/25 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Kit Kat to our rescue family! From volunteer Dianne: If Kit Kat could have imagined a harder life, she surely couldn’t.
We’re told she had one litter of puppies before her breeder decided not to breed her again. After that, she was given to a family who promised to love her forever, but they didn’t. Instead, they let her go, believing that releasing a Bulldog out in the country was somehow acceptable.
Kit Kat wandered until a man found her and decided the safest place for her was his shed. He put her inside with a 50 lb. bag of dog food and some water, thinking that at least it would keep the coyotes from killing her. And so, for a couple of months, that shed was her world.
Eventually, either she found a way out or he let her go, Kit Kat was roaming again. People in the county knew who she was, where she came from, who her original owner was, and even who kept her in the shed. They knew her name. But in that county, dogs roam, and no one stepped in.
Until the right person finally did.
Kit Kat was ready to be caught. She was exhausted. She was covered in ticks and fleas, her rear was raw and bleeding, she was starving, and she was suffering from heartworms. But she was still gentle. Still hopeful.
Kit Kat’s life is only just beginning now, but she feels as though she’s already traveled a lifetime.

3/22/26 GOOD NEWS BREWING ALERT for Kit Kat! From her foster momma: I sincerely apologize for the delay in sharing an update. Miss Kit Kat has been with me for about three weeks now, and I’ve found myself hesitating to put this into words. I think part of me has been trying to avoid the inevitable…
But this little girl is far too special not to share, and I feel like I might burst if I don’t tell everyone just how wonderful she is.
First and foremost: Kit Kat officially has an adoption pending! While that brings so much joy, it also makes this update a little bittersweet.
She has completely wrapped everyone in my office around her tiny bully tail—we are all absolutely enamored with her. She may be small, but she is mighty! She has the funniest little “gremlin” voice, and she really only barks when something on TV startles her or when the windshield wipers and spray are going in the car.
Kit Kat loves to play (fetch and “soccer” are her favorites) and she wants to make it very clear that the ball is HERS. She has boundless daytime energy and doesn’t want to miss a single thing, whether it’s hanging out with people at the office or keeping up with the kitties at home.
But when bedtime rolls around, she is all about snuggles and snores… her second favorite activity. She is truly the best cuddler, with the softest, most luxurious fur… especially those ears!
I have no doubt she is going to make her future family incredibly happy, just as she has done for all of us. That said, we already know it will be so hard to let her go. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. There is something so uniquely special about her sweet energy, and when she looks at you with those big brown eyes, it feels like she is truly connecting with you.
Until that day comes, we will continue to love and nurture this precious girl so she always knows she is safe, adored and completely cherished.
