Happy tails for Kairo and Layla Clapton!
Yesterday marked the start of a beautiful new chapter for Kairo and Layla Clapton. They found their home in Austin with the wonderful Kelsie!
Kelsie lost her beloved Bulldog, Ellie Mae, exactly one year ago yesterday, so it was a day that holds special meaning. Last weekend, Kelsie made the trip to Fort Worth to meet Kairo. After spending time with her, she knew she needed a friend—and that’s when sweet Layla Clapton entered the picture!
These two Bulldogs have truly hit the jackpot with their new mom. Kelsie’s heart and home are full of love, and we couldn’t be happier for this perfect match.
Wishing Kairo, Layla Clapton and Kelsie a lifetime of love and happiness together!
A beautiful touch: Kelsie’s sweatshirt features a picture of Ellie Mae. I love that she was part of the adoption too.
Today, Layla Clapton joined our rescue, and I can’t help but think of one of the loves of my life — Eric Clapton — every time I say her name. And just like the legend she’s named after, this girl is pure perfection.
Layla Clapton has never done anything wrong. Her family faced some life changes and, unfortunately, could no longer provide her with the time and attention she so richly deserves. As a result, Layla Clapton spent too much time alone, waiting for someone to come home and give her the love and companionship she craves.
Layla Clapton is a social butterfly — she loves everyone and everything. Dogs, cats, and kids alike, she adores them all. She knows her commands, including sit and shake, and has great manners, never getting on furniture.
At 5 years old, Layla Clapton is past the puppy stage, making her the perfect pint-sized lady who’s easy to lift and shower with affection. She may be small, but her heart is huge.
Layla Clapton is named after the love of my life, Eric Clapton, and she’s ready to find her next home where she can shine as the amazing companion she is.
2/20/25 Update: I picked up Layla Clapton on Monday, and she’s settled into our foster home as if she’s always been here.
Her fun-loving and affectionate personality quickly won over my entire family, and even our resident Bulldog has been charmed by her. The two have already become fast friends.
Layla Clapton absolutely loves curling up in bed with her humans, and she’s happiest when surrounded by people. While she can be a little anxious when left alone, she finds comfort in her foster brother Kevin, who reassures her when she needs it.
As for car rides, Layla Clapton is a true car princess! She loves cruising around, especially when treats are involved. Even if she’s snoozing in another room, the moment she hears the car keys, she’s up and ready to go, giving a wiggly little butt shake that says, “I’m ready, Foster Mom!”
When it comes to personal space, Layla Clapton doesn’t have much regard for it—she’s all about love and attention, even if it’s a bit intense at times, especially during meal times. She’s been known to try to “help” her fellow Bulldogs with their food, which has led to a bit of mealtime drama. To avoid any issues, Layla Clapton now enjoys her meals in her own room.
Layla Clapton is one of the friendliest, most lovable Bulldogs you’ll ever meet. She has a way of stealing hearts the moment she walks in the room. Could she be the perfect match for your family?
