LL Drool J (now Rocky)

LL Drool J (now Rocky)

11/2/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: From the very first conversation, Alanah and Chris were smitten with LL Drool J. The excitement and anticipation of finally meeting him were strong.

When the big day arrived, they made the drive from Houston to meet him at Bull-O-Ween. LL Drool J had attended events in the past, so meeting at Bull-O-Ween seemed like a great opportunity.

However, we quickly discovered that the music, crowds and chaos were simply too much for him. He became stressed and started nipping. Thankfully, there was plenty of outdoor space where he could step away, decompress and catch his breath.

It was clear that LL Drool J had some anxiety that could trigger behaviors that weren’t always easy to manage. As we talked through whether he was the right fit for their family, Alanah and Chris never wavered. They were both committed to giving him the time, patience and possibly the training he might need to feel safe, build confidence and live his very best life.

And just like that, LL Drool J got a new name: Rocky! With that big ol’ beautiful head of his, Rocky seems like the perfect name.

I wish Rocky, Alanah and Chris a lifetime of love, patience, adventures and happy memories. Rocky may have a few things to work through, but he’s found two people who are willing to stand beside him and help him along the way.

Sometimes the best happily-ever-afters aren’t about finding the perfect dog, but about finding the people who are willing to love the dog in front of them.

7/26/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome LL Drool J to our rescue family!

Not every dog who comes into rescue has a story of neglect or hardship. Sometimes, life simply changes.

LL Drool J was deeply loved by his previous family. They gave him a wonderful life, but as their family grew and life became busier, they found themselves unable to give him the time and attention he deserved. Making the decision to let him go was heartbreaking, but it was made out of love and with the hope that he could find a home where he could once again be someone’s center of attention.

LL Drool J is everything you love about a Bulldog: sweet, affectionate, full of personality and, true to his name, never far from leaving a little drool behind.

He may be a little confused by all the recent changes, but his bum still wiggles, his heart is still wide open and he’s ready to love again.

Welcome to the Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue family, LL Drool J. We promise your next chapter is going to be a great one.

8/14/26 UPDATE ~ A BIG thank you to everyone who helped us cover the cost of LL Drool J’s neuter and BOAS surgery yesterday! ❤️

BOAS stands for brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, a condition that can affect flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs and can make breathing difficult. LL Drool J needed surgery to help improve his airway and make breathing easier.

His surgeries went well, and he’s healing nicely so far. And apparently, one of the perks of recovery is getting to enjoy two weeks of soft food! LL Drool J is taking that part of his recovery very seriously. 😂

He’ll need to stick with his soft-food diet while everything heals, and his foster momma will be keeping a close eye on him throughout his recovery.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donates to our program because it allows us to give dogs like LL Drool J healthier, happier futures. Rescue is only possible of people like you.

Thank you for giving LL Drool J the care he needed and the chance to breathe a little easier. We’ll keep you posted on his recovery!

9/12/26 UPDATE ~ Poor foster boy LL Drool J had a bit of a boo-boo confirmed at his vet visit today.

His foster momma suspected something wasn’t quite right, and the doc confirmed it: LL Drool J has a hernia. Boo! 👎

The good news is that we know what’s going on, and he’s already scheduled for repair surgery this Wednesday. We’ll get this handsome boy patched up and back to feeling his best!

Of course, unexpected medical expenses like this add up quickly. If you’d like to help us care for LL Drool J and all of our foster Bulldogs, please consider making a North Texas Giving Day donation to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us provide the veterinary care our Bulldogs need. ❤️
