Luca Marie was adopted today! Her new daddy drove from Baton Rouge to pick her up and she’ll have a new fur brother named Bear. I’m so happy for my tiny sweet Luca Marie. I know she’s got the best family.
Bulldog friends when the rescue wagon rounded the corner I sure hoped they were coming for me. I was not scheduled to get on board but I sure wanted to. My brother Logan was leaving and I knew I would be lost without him. But really the main reason I wanted to go was I felt really bad.
The rescue lady pointed at me and said “that girl is sick.” She said she could see it in my eyes. There was some talking but I could not understand what they were saying. All I know was in the end my new rescue friend picked me up, tucked me under her arm and told me she was going to make sure that I sat in Dr. Larsen’s lap that day. And that is just what I did.
There was some lap holding, some blood drawn and some medication. I felt a little weird when they put a nebulizer over my nose, but then they told me it was going to help me breathe, and it was all ok then. My diagnosis was an upper respiratory infection. My temperature was almost 104.
All that happened on Wednesday and after a few days of medication, and some lap holding I am feeling so much better. My name is Luca, I am almost 2 and I weight 30 pounds. When you meet Logan remember he is my brother and he is sweet as can be, just like me!
5/2/23 Update: It’s photo day for Luca Marie and I can’t get enough pictures of this sweet little girl. Let me tell you about her: She’s 2 years old and just the sweetest. She’s the smallest Bulldog I’ve ever seen – about 36 pounds. She still has a few more days of taking her meds. She gets along with the other house dogs. I don’t think she’s been around cats. She loves attention and wiggles her whole body when I call her name. She loves peanut butter and eats pretty well. She’s very scared of storms, so we’ll do our best to work through that.
